MAFS Australia's Luke accuses wife Mel of giving him 'PTSD' following her 'traumatic' treatment of him
Viewers have found the whole situation uncomfortableMAFS Australia groom Luke has spoken out about his “traumatic” time on the show, thanks to his wife, Mel.
From the very first moment they met at the altar, it was clear things between Luke and Mel weren’t going to be great. She was left standing up there by herself because he forgot the rings and had to go back to get them. Then, he was chewing gum during the ceremony.
Luke very quickly apologised as soon as he realised Mel was upset. But the damage was done. And so, instead of trying to get along, Mel’s been basically ignoring him and viewers have been finding it extremely uncomfortable to watch. Now, Luke himself has spoken about the whole situation.

Mel and Luke’s dramatic relationship
Every episode just seems to push Luke and Mel further and further away from each other. Tonight’s episode marked the end of the honeymoons, as each couple headed to reunite with the others at the first dinner party of the series.
While a lot of the couples were arriving holding hands and happy, Mel and Luke walked in separately, and she immediately went to the girls. One of the first things she actually said was that she was “so excited” to speak to someone who isn’t her husband!
Instantly, everyone at the dinner party knew that there was a strange vibe between the couple. And when they were all going around asking each other how they were feeling, Luke finally admitted he felt as though he was trying more with Mel than she was with him.
Later, when she was chatting to the girls, Mel admitted that she has the ‘ick’ from Luke. Specifically how he “watches the TV with the volume too loud”. But all the girls were adamant that she hadn’t given him enough of a chance. And to his surprise, she confirmed that at the table as she admitted she just wanted a “fairy tale”.
However, after every episode, viewers have been taking to social media to share their upset for Luke, who seems like a genuinely nice guy.

But they aren’t the only ones who have been left annoyed at the whole situation. After filming the show, Luke has since spoke out about how “isolated” he felt because of Mel’s behaviour.

Luke hits out at the way he was treated on MAFS Australia
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Luke admitted he found the aftermath “traumatic”.
He explained: “It was tough to watch back. I feel like I actually had a bit of PTSD. I had been in this experiment with Mel. And I just wasn’t treated nicely.”
On the honeymoon, Luke felt the entire vibe was “awkward”.
He said: “I don’t care that she wasn’t attracted to me. If she just wasn’t attracted to me, then that’s fine. Let’s at least be friends. I genuinely tried every little thing in the book. I would always start the day and ask her heaps of questions. But I would always get cold, short answers.”
However, it was when he saw how outgoing she was with the others at the dinner party, that he felt everything hit him harder.
“I would see her energy towards other people compared to myself, and it would be a stark difference. I’m not an awkward person, I could talk to a brick wall. That’s another really hard part of it. I feel like she checked out from the moment she saw me.”
Luke was asked if the pair could be friends on the outside, but he confessed: “We couldn’t even be friends in there.”
While he doesn’t want anyone to “hate” on Mel, he did admit he hopes she could “realise how she is or how she can be and how her behaviour can affect people”.
It’s clear there is still a lot more to play out on our screens in the UK. But it doesn’t seem like there is much hope for Mel and Luke!
