Prison nightmare for Bear as Paddy vows to save his dad

But as he risks being sent to prison for breaking his bail conditions, Paddy comes up with a plan to ensure his dad doesn’t go down. Will it work though?
Bear needs help in Emmerdale spoilers
Bear has struggled to cope since he killed Ray Walters. Paddy has tried numerous ways to support his dad, but none of them seem to be working.
This week Bear begged Manpreet for some painkillers, like Ray used to give him. But she refused, citing his addiction meant it wouldn’t be ethical to prescribe him any more. She advised over-the-counter medication and more counselling.
But that was not enough for Bear, so he went and checked in to hospital over his hurt hand. However he then quickly checked himself out again. And, after a scuffle with Jacob, no one knows where he went.
Bear goes missing again
Next week Bear is missing and Paddy is terrified over where his dad could be.
Viewers will see Bear paranoid and terrified as he shambles alone down an isolated country road. He is hiding himself from any passing traffic, determined not to be spotted. It’s clear Bear is totally at rock bottom.
But where is he going?
Paddy spends the whole night out looking for Bear and comes up with nothing. But things get worse when DS Walsh arrives and explains because Bear has broken his bail conditions, as well as assaulted Jacob at the hospital, things are not looking good for him.
Walsh tells Paddy as soon as Bear is found he will be sent to prison and held on remand. Paddy is distraught and desperate to find his dad before the police do.
Paddy’s plan to save Bear in Emmerdale spoilers
Out searching again, Paddy does in fact locate Bear. He is next to Anya’s grave site and confused, alone and depressed.
Paddy manages to get his dad to stand and coaxes him back to the car. But he doesn’t tell DS Walsh Bear is back home.
Instead, he comes up with a plan to help keep Bear out of prison. Paddy will do whatever it takes to make sure his dad is safe and not locked up in a jail cell.
So he decides to pay for Bear to stay at a secure mental health unit. Will this be enough to appease Walsh? And will it finally give Bear the help he needs?
