As Sarah’s guilt over Theo murder continues, 5 theories on what happens next
The guilt is eating away at Sarah
Sarah Platt killed Theo Silverton in a huge twist that took place on screen in Coronation Street yesterday (Monday, June 22).
Tonight (Tuesday, June 23), Gary told Sarah that he didn’t go through with telling Maria the truth. But, Todd then shocked Sarah when he was adamant that Gary was the killer. He had no idea…
As Sarah’s guilt over Theo’s murder continues though, here as five theories on what could happen next.

Coronation Street Sarah Theo murder theory 1. Sarah going to prison
One big theory is that Sarah might actually get found out and sent to prison for her crimes.
In a recent interview, actress Tina O’Brien hinted at this very possibility, revealing: “She could be going to prison this time. If she’d have called the police straight away and explained what happened, she would have been in a much better situation, because it was clearly not pre meditated, it was a situation where she felt she had no other choice. But to cover it up, to actively cover something up, she knows that she crossed a line that she can’t come back from. ”
One fan online then suggested: “Will Sarah go to prison for killing Theo?”
2. Gary taking responsibility
We’ve already seen that Gary will do anything for Sarah. He’s literally covered up a murder for her.
Gary’s killed in the past, so he might decide that now is the time do serve some time behind bars like he’s always deserved. And, that way, Sarah will be let off the hook.
One concerned fan on X commented: “I hope Gary isn’t gonna take the rap for Sarah.”

3. Somebody else finished Theo off
Sarah told Gary that Theo was definitely dead, but it is possible that Gary left the body to grab the weapon while Theo was still alive without checking himself. In that time, somebody else could’ve actually bumped him off…
Another viewer on X wondered: “Also part of me is like I feel there’s more to it? Maybe he was still alive and hit again by someone else?? I don’t want my girl Sarah getting sent down or thinking she’s a killer, also wonder if Corrie will revisit her mental health storyline? That would be interesting.”
4. Nobody ever gets caught
Killers in Soapland always get caught in the end… Well, not always. Gary knows this all too well, so it is possible that he’s covered up Sarah’s tracks so well that nobody can trace Theo’s death back to her.
The Weatherfield police have just about arrested everyone under the sun at this point. They’re not the best at solving these crimes, are they? Perhaps Sarah will get away with it after all.
A crime left unsolved? At least viewers are in the know!
One fan suggested: “Sarah will never go to prison or be found out as Theo’s killer unless Tina O’Brien is leaving. Which means this murder will never be properly solved by Lisa or Kit.”
Another idea is that nobody officially gets caught because DC Kit Green finds out and covers for his partner Sarah.
A viewer stated: “So we can all agree Sarah being the killer (like she’d have the muscle to knock him over the bars) will mean Kit could get her off free, meaning there is no real justice for Todd in this bc he is going to take Sarah’s side too unless Tina is planning to leave.”

5. Jodie gives Sarah an alibi
Remember when Jodie attacked Sarah that night? A final theory has predicted that Sarah will work this out and do a deal with her. In exchange for not reporting Jodie to the police, Jodie will have to give Sarah an alibi for the Theo case.
A fan commented: “As I said months ago, Sarah can make a deal with Jodie. Jodie gives Sarah an alibi & Sarah doesn’t turn Jodie in for hitting her. Jodie can say she was scared of those thugs & ran. Sarah can say she was unconscious on the floor at the time of death & Jodie can corroborate.”
