Delta will dance again this Saturday
Strictly Come Dancing fans are delighted that Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington are returning to the BBC One dance show this weekend.
It was announced last week that Delta, 41, would be missing Strictly’s Icons Week after sustaining a rib injury during rehearsals.
As a result of the injury, Delta and pro partner Kai, 31, received a bye through to this week, where it was confirmed on Monday October 19 that they are returning to the show this Saturday October 24.

Delta had been hoping to pay tribute to Olivia Newton-John as her chosen icon after seeing the late star as her lifelong inspiration, mentor, and friend.
However, due to her rib injury, Delta had to miss Icons Week and fans are hoping that the Australian singer gets to honour Grease legend Olivia, who sadly died in 2022 aged 73, this weekend.
Taking to Reddit, one Strictly fan wrote: “We know she was doing Olivia Newton-John last week but did we ever find out the song and dance because hopefully she still gets to perform it this week because she meant a lot to Delta and I know she’ll be gutted if she can’t perform it.”
Elsewhere, another account wrote: “I can only imagine what would have been if Delta had danced to Olivia Newton-John.”
A different Strictly watcher put: “Would she get to do her dance to Olivia Newton John? One of the very few icon week dances I think fitted perfectly for her.”
Meanwhile, another account added: “Maybe she can do her Olivia Newton-John icon choice another week?”
Someone else on Instagram wrote, as they reacted to the news of Delta’s return this weekend: “Great news. Maybe she can do her Olivia Newton John icon choice another week.”
Inside Delta Goodrem’s bond with Olivia Newton-John
Delta first met Hopelessly Devoted To You hitmaker Olivia in New York when she was young. The duo became firm friends and Olivia acted as a mentor to a then young Delta.
Delta performed at a memorial in Melbourne in tribute to Olivia following her death.
The Born to Try singer also played Olivia in the mini-series Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted To You back in 2018.
Delta Goodrem’s Strictly Come Dancing return
Strictly Come Dancing confirmed on Monday October 19 that Delta and Kai would be returning to the competition this week.
Posting to Instagram, the hit BBC One dance show penned: “Following her bye last week due to injury, we’re delighted to confirm Delta has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend.
“She’ll return to the #Strictly ballroom on Saturday night, and Abi Clarke will pop into her rehearsal room for a chat on Training Room Diaries on Wednesday evening.”
