Strictly Come Dancing‘s Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby have got viewers’ backs up after noticing a bad ‘habit’ during the Results show.

Love Island star Cach has been paired with new professional Maddie for the 2026 series and, after a rocky start, they are doing very well.

This weekend, the pair performed a Foxtrot and ended up joint first on the leaderboard.

But fans have noticed something – the pair have never thanked viewers when it has been announced they are safe from the dance off.

Cach and Maddie scored an impressive 34 marks in Icons Week. This put them at the top of the leaderboard alongside Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu.

Anton Du Beke was blown away by their Foxtrot. He told Cach: “From one old ballroom boy, to a new ballroom boy, welcome to the club. I’m so delighted, thrilled more than anything else.

“Your footwork is immaculate and your timing…. Listen, you stick with it because you are great.”

Anton’s fellow judge Motsi Mabuse also told Cach: “You are iconic, really.”

When it came to Sunday night’s Strictly Come Dancing: The Results, Cach and Maddie were the third couple to be put through to Week 5’s live show.

But fans spotted that they didn’t thank viewers for their votes. And it isn’t the first time, either.

In fact, Cach and Maddie have never mouthed thank you to the fans at home like the other couples. They have also failed to use British Sign Language to thank their supporters either.

Noticing this, one viewer complained on X: “Has anyone told Cach and Maddie they need to say thank you after the vote?”

Another replied: “Totally agree with this. Lack of basic manners gets on my wick.”

A third penned: “I find myself telling them off shouting at the TV.” And someone else wrote: “We’re coming up to week 5, they should know by now.”

‘Can’t wait to do it all again’

Cach, however, later thanked fans for the votes, despite not doing it on-screen during the Results show. He took to Instagram on Sunday evening and shared a video of himself and Maddie messing around backstage.

Alongside it, Cach wrote: “Through to another week, thank you to everyone that voted for us. It means so much to us, we love all the support and kind comments you give every week. Can’t wait to do it all again next week!”

Maddie, meanwhile, has also posted two picture of herself backstage. She told her followers: “Thank you to everyone who voted us through another week! you are making what once was a little girl’s dream, come true!”
