Dianne Buswell returns to Strictly six months after giving birth

Back in March, Dianne, 37, welcomed her son, Bowden, into the world.

Six months later, the star was back on the ballroom floor for her 10th series on the show.

During the opening routine, Dianne made a nod to recently giving birth, as she skipped past the camera whilst pushing a pram.

Later in the show, the pro, who won the show back in 2024 with Chris McCausland, was paired up with Will Best.

Not only were fans overjoyed by the pairing, but they were left blown away by the fact that just six months ago Dianne gave birth.

Taking to X, fans gushed over Dianne’s return.

“Can I just say Miss Dianne Buswell just had a baby 6 months ago??? Insane,” one fan tweeted.

“That’s what I was saying. I was like, wow, she did, and she’s back just like that,” another replied.

“Dianne had a C-section in March, and now she’s back being a pro on one of the biggest shows on the BBC; that’s some real boss [bleep] – I love women,” a third wrote.

Dianne’s fear she wouldn’t dance again after C-section

Earlier this month, in an interview with The Sun, Dianne opened up about her C-section, and how she feared she may not dance again.

The star gave birth via an emergency C-section which left her bedbound and in agonising pain.

“I was hoping to have a natural birth, but it didn’t work out that way. I was frightened of not being able to feel my legs. It was scary, and I didn’t think about the recovery at the time,” she said.

“There were moments where I was lying in bed, needing to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. I had to wake Joe and say: ‘Please come and get me,’ because I physically couldn’t use my stomach to get out of bed. I remember crying in his arms because I was in so much pain. It was a real shock to the system. I don’t think I realised how much women went through,” she then said.

The dancer rebuilt her strength bit by bit, beginning with walking before adding weights and Pilates. Eventually, she was reassured that her body would be able to cope with dancing again.
