Traitors US star Michael Rapaport has already landed the title of “most annoying cast member ever” – but who is he?

The American version of the show has today arrived on the BBC and Michael definitely makes himself known from episode 1.

Brash and loud, he is certainly no wallflower…

Fans across the pond struggled to warm to Michael and it is likely UK viewers may feel the same at first.

The Traitors US: Who is Michael Rapaport?

Michael is 56 years old and hails from New York City. His mum Judy was a radio personality in the Big Apple, while his dad David was also a radio executive.

It’s no surprise to learn that Michael went on to follow in their footsteps with a job in the spotlight.

After he graduated from high school (having previously been expelled), Michael moved to California with ambitions of becoming a comedian. He succeeded and worked the mic for three years.

He later moved into acting, landing his breakout role in the US series China Beach.

Michael now has multiple TV and film credits to his name, including Doctor Dolittle 2 and The Heat. His best known TV roles are in Prison Break, True Romance and The War At Home.

Friends fans may even recall Michael as Gary, Phoebe’s boyfriend, in the iconic show!

These days, Michael seems just as famous for his outspoken social media commentary as he is for his acting. He enjoys sharing his blunt opinions on everything from celebrities to sport and politics online.

Michael also hosts the I Am Rapaport Stereo Podcast. He has announced he will be running for Mayor of New York City in 2029.

He has two sons from his first marriage and is now married to actress Kebe Dunn.

Traitors US fans brand Michael ‘annoying’

If he isn’t already on your radar, Michael will be by episode 3 of The Traitors US series 4. In one scene, he winds up quite a few of the cast by loudly and repeatedly singing “If you’re a Traitor and you know it clap your hands”….

Fans in the US were quick to share their feelings when the season first began airing there in January this year.

Writing on Reddit, one viewer said: “Michael is probably one of the most annoying cast members I’ve ever seen. He just does not know how to keep his trap shut.”

Another added: “Michael’s face is the same scowl as Eminem. My wife and I can’t stand him.”

A third admitted it was “hard not to want him to be murdered or banished right away,” while another wrote: “Michael is so dramatic lmao.”

Let’s give the man a chance though, eh? He might just win us round…
