Tyler West announced as new host of the Race Across the World podcast after Scott Mills is sacked by BBC
The BBC fired DJ Scott last FridayTyler West has been accounted as Scott Mills’ replacement on this year’s Race Across the World: The Detour podcast.
The Celebrity Race Across the World runner-up has been brought in following Scott’s sudden sacking from the BBC earlier this week.
Scott was pulled from his Radio 2 show by BBC bosses following allegations of sexual misconduct.

It has now been confirmed that he will no longer be the host of the Race Across the World: The Detour companion video podcast either.
Announcing the news this morning, the BBC said: “Broadcaster, DJ and Celebrity Race Across the World contestant Tyler West will host the new video podcast Race Across the World: The Detour.
“The podcast will also feature series four winner Alfie Watts, sharing his top travel tips and hacks.”
Why is Scott Mills not presenting the Race Across the World podcast?
The BBC removed broadcaster Scott from his BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show last Friday. The news was confirmed on Monday.
The BBC said it had received “new information” regarding a police investigation involving Scott dating back nine years.

A statement said: “Scott Mills had a long career across the BBC, he was hugely popular and we know the news this week has come as a shock and surprise to many.
“We also recognise there’s been much speculation in the media and online since Monday. We hope people understand that there is a limit to what we can say because we have to be mindful of the rights of those involved.”
The BBC said it had “obtained new information relating to Scott” in recent weeks. Bosses then spoke directly to him.
“As a result, the BBC acted decisively in line with our culture and values and terminated his contract,” it added.
The Beeb added: “Separately, we can confirm the BBC was made aware in 2017 of the existence of an ongoing police investigation, which was subsequently closed in 2019 with no arrest or charge being made. We are doing more work to understand the detail of what was known by the BBC at this time.”
It has since been confirmed that the alleged victim was under 16 at the time.

Tyler West replaces Scott Mills on Race Across the World podcast
The team behind the BBC’s Race Across the World jumped into action following Scott’s dismissal from the organisation.
The brand new series of the popular show starts tonight. Scott had already been confirmed as this year’s companion podcast host.
However, since his dismissal, bosses have drafted in Tyler and already recorded a new trailer.
In it, Tyler laughs and jokes with former RATW winner Alfie.
“This is The Detour, the official companion podcast for Race Across the World,” Tyler says. “It’s the post episode checkpoint where you’ll hear the latest chat around each episode from us.”
The podcast change comes hours after Scott broke his silence.
In a statement last night, the DJ said: “The recent announcement that I am no longer contracted to the BBC has led to the publication of rumour and speculation.
“In response to this the Metropolitan Police has made a statement, which I confirm relates to me.
“An allegation was made against me in 2016 of a historic sexual offence which was the subject of a police investigation in which I fully cooperated and responded to in 2018.
“As the police have stated, a file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, which determined that the evidential threshold had not been met to bring charges.”
