Who left Strictly Come Dancing tonight?

Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden have become the first Strictly 2026 pairing to be voted out.

Saturday night saw Chris and Amy perform a Cha Cha to I’m Always Here from Baywatch for Movie Week.

However, they failed to impress the judges, picking up just 17 points out of a possible 40.

They found themselves in the dance-off alongside Jaime and Carlos during Sunday’s first results show. Jaime and Carlos too failed to really impress on Saturday night, picking up just 21 points for their Cha Cha.

After performing their routines again on Sunday’s show, it was down to the judges to decide who to save.

Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Jaime and Carlos, bringing Chris and Amy’s time on the show to an end. Craig Revel Horwood said he would have also voted to save Jaime and Carlos.

Amy Dowden’s history on Strictly

This is now the second year running that Amy has been the first celebrity pro out.

Last year, the star was paired with controversial Apprentice star Thomas Skinner. They were voted first out.

Amy’s highest finish was as a runner-up with Karim Zeroual back in 2019.

She finished 6th with JJ Chalmers in 2020, 7th with Tom Fletcher in 2021, and 11th with James Bye in 2022.

In 2024, after returning to the dance floor following her battle with breast cancer, the dancer was forced to pull out of the competition in week six due to a foot injury. She was paired with JLS star JB Gill at the time. Lauren Oakley took over from Amy, and together she and JB reached the final.

Amy and Chris will be on It Takes Two to speak to Ellie Taylor on Monday, October 5.
