Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? fans rejoice, as the hugely popular game show is returning for a new series.

And guess what, it has been tipped as one of the most dramatic runs yet.

Jeremy Clarkson will of course be at the helm as a new batch of brainboxes take to the hot seat.

ITV has also let slip that not one but TWO contestants will make it all the way to the £1million question.

One of those will definitely scoop the jackpot, while it remains to be seen if the other player will do the same.

This is mega, as only six players have taken home the top prize in the game show’s 27-year history. And only one of those has won it since Jeremy has been the host.

Meanwhile, someone else will be seen losing a mega amount in one fell swoop. Eek!

Here’s everything we know about the new Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? series, including the start date.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire returns for new series

ITV has this evening announced that Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? is returning for a string of new shows.

In an exciting announcement, bosses also confirmed the news that one player will win the jackpot. Another will make it all the way to the final question.

A statement says: “Viewers are in for one of the most dramatic series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? yet, when the iconic quiz show returns to screens.

“In an exclusive reveal, the new series will see not one but two contestants make it all the way to the £1 million question, placing them just one answer away from winning the show’s ultimate prize and a life-changing sum of money.

“Winning £1 million on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? remains an exceptionally rare achievement, with only six contestants in the show’s UK history having taken home the top prize and only one winner since Jeremy Clarkson became host.”

It won’t be all sunshine and roses for all the contestants, though. ITV has also revealed that one player will lose £186,000 in a single moment.

“[This makes it] one of the most suspenseful runs the show has delivered in years,” the statement adds.
