Wedding day drama!

It’s Sarah and Jason’s wedding day. But David’s spent the night in his car, parked on some wasteland.

Gail’s worried about her son and phones the police to report him missing. Meanwhile, David climbs up on to the factory roof to watch what’s going on. He’s pleased to see the police pull up outside his family’s house – thinking it means someone cares!

Meanwhile, bride Sarah is determined nothing will stop the wedding. David watches his family leave for the wedding angry that they’re still going ahead despite his disappearance and the suicide note he left.

Wanting to make everyone listen to him, David drives to the canal. He phones home and leaves a message on the answer machine announcing that he’s going to kill himself and then he drives his car into the canal!

A shocked passer-by phones the police.

Gail gets horrifying news!

Meanwhile, back in Weatherfield, Sarah and Jason’s wedding is in full swing when the police arrive at the church.

They tell a horrified Gail that David’s car has been found in the canal and they’re looking for his body.

Frantic with worry, Gail leaves the church. But Sarah’s still convinced that David’s just trying to ruin her wedding. Forcefully, she tells the vicar to carry on!

After the wedding, an upset Maria tells Gail about the suicide note that Sarah found and destroyed.

Gail’s absolutely distraught, as she she realises that David’s chosen the same spot to try to take his own life, as where Richard Hillman tried to drown them all four years before.

The fun’s over for Sarah

With Sarah determined to keep everything as she planned, the wedding reception takes place at Leanne’s restaurant. But the celebrations are muted as everybody’s worried about David, and Jason’s shocked at Sarah’s lack of concern for her brother.

After the party, Jason and Sarah arrive home to find Gail furious that Sarah got rid of David’s note without telling anyone. Sarah explains she thought his suicide note was a wind-up.

When David arrives home, looking terrible, Gail rushes to hug him, relieved he is alive.

But David triumphantly tells Sarah his plan worked – he ruined her wedding day. And when she points out the wedding went ahead anyway, he says he’ll ruin her marriage instead.

And is Sarah and Jason’s marriage over, too?

On the first day of their honeymoon in the Lakes, Sarah and Jason are already arguing. Jason’s appalled at Sarah’s cold and callous approach to David’s attempted suicide. Sarah tries to make him see that David was simply trying to ruin their wedding but Jason’s not convinced.

At Jason’s insistence, he and Sarah cut short their honeymoon and arrive back to the street to check that David’s okay. Sarah’s fuming.

Sarah asks Jason to take her wedding dress to the dry cleaner, but Jason leaves it in the cafe where it’s found by David. He dumps it next to the guy, and soon it’s being cut up by Kayleigh for the guy to wear on top of the bonfire!

When the guy is put on top of the fire, Sarah recognises her dress and she’s furious with Jason – much to David’s delight.

John’s got women trouble!

It’s Sophie’s 13th birthday, and everyone goes bowling to celebrate. But Rosie stays behind so she can see John. When the rest of the family arrives home they find John there with Rosie.

John covers saying he wondered if Sally wanted another lesson as he really enjoys teaching her. Sally’s delighted thinking that John must fancy her.

Later, John suggests to Sally that they go to the theatre to help with her studies. Sally’s ecstatic thinking she’s on a hot date though John’s oblivious.

Fiz is fed up with Sally gushing about John. She tells John it’s obvious that Sally fancies him but John doesn’t believe her. Though when Sally blurts out that she’s got feelings for him, John realises Fiz was right!

He tells her he doesn’t feel the same and suggests they end their lessons.

Sally’s smitten

John moves in with Fiz and decides to end things with Rosie, because he’s about to become her teacher. Rosie’s disappointed while Fiz and John are loved-up.

John’s secretly relieved to have finished with Rosie. Rosie meanwhile is plotting how to win him back and at her first day back at Weatherfield High, she’s dressed to kill!

But things don’t go well and soon Rosie’s in trouble for fighting.Sally’s pleased when she gets a call from John asking her to come to the school as Rosie’s been in a fight.

Smitten Sal touches up her make-up ready to impress John. She’s unaware that her daughter is busy trying to distract John while he’s doing his marking. Eventually John’s resolve weakens and her and Rosie kiss passionately as Sally approaches the classroom door…

Violet’s fuming

Tensions are rising between Violet and Sean. She’s furious when she finds out he tricked Marcus into revealing the sex of their baby and even more disgruntled when she discovers Jamie knew too.

When Marcus apologises to Violet, she’s not happy. She threatens to take him to a tribunal. Marcus is worried.

Sean admits to Violet that he tricked Marcus into telling him the sex of the baby. Violet agrees not to punish Marcus but tells Sean in no uncertain terms the baby is hers and he is simply the donor. Sean’s devastated.
