When Carl was asleep, Abi found her chance to check his phone for anything dodgy. But, when she did start snooping, she found much more than she’d bargained for. Ouch. Carl prepared to tell Abi (Credit: ITV) Abi’s suspicions grew in Coronation Street This evening on the cobbles, Carl bumped into James and warned him not to tell Abi about their secret bunk ups. He would tell her after Christmas, so as not to dampen the festive mood. Right. Because there’s definitely a right time to tell your partner you’ve been cheating on them. Although… Abi can completely relate to Carl’s predicament. Meanwhile, Tracy got into Abi’s head that Carl was definitely up to something. She was looking out for her as a valuable (and self-proclaimed) of the sisterhood. This shut James up for the time being. Back at the flat, Carl kipped on Abi while she made a huge excuse to check his phone. She quickly woke Carl up to as him to pop in his phone passcode so that she could ‘change the music…’ A valid reason. There are only so many cheesy Christmas songs one can take in one go! She then found a very interesting conversation with James that exposed his whole secret affair. Abi had previously thanked James for stopping Carl from going through with a car scam, but she now found out that this was just a cover story for their secret fling. Abi tells Carl she’s just popping out for some shopping, but once she’s alone with Tracy, the nerves hit hard. She’s convinced her relationship is teetering on the edge. Things get even more tense when she spots a bag stuffed with cash in Carl’s car boot. Heart pounding, she grabs it… only to arrive at the hotel and discover it’s vanished. Spotting Kevin outside, she blurts out her suspicions that Carl’s planning a sneaky getaway. Kevin is far from impressed. As he prepares to make his speech for Debbie, everyone holds their breath. Carla was still gagged Poor Carla was having an awful Christmas time as Becky paid her yet another visit. The factory worker was still gagged and tied up in that horrible closet, just begging to be set free. Daniel was on the mend Evelyn was horrified to walk her dog and find Daniel left for dead in the ginnel. Will Driscoll confessed to Maggie that he'd attacked Daniel, unhappy with a bad grade he'd given him at school. Maggie visited Daniel at the hospital (he was making a fine recovery), and faked her concern just to make sure he didn't see who attacked him. Maggie's flashback revealed her killer cover-up A flashback scene revealed that Will had attacked Daniel. And, Maggie had then gone on to take Daniel's valuables to make it look like he'd been mugged. She then planted the items on a homeless person who was then arrested for the attack. This was dark, very dark. But, Maggie does always remind everyone that she'll do whatever it takes to protect the family. Todd cancelled on Summer Todd was buzzing about being given Andrew Scott tickets by Summer, but Theo then surprised him with a mini-break for the same date.
