As Debbie goes to prison, spoilers reveal two huge soap stars cast as fellow prisoners

Debbie's dreading prison

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Wednesday, February 4), Carl Webster told his mum Debbie Webster that he wanted to see her go to prison.

That’s because Debbie had just dropped the bombshell on him that she’s actually his mum – not Elaine.

And, it looks like Carl will get his wish as two former soap faces have been cast to join Debbie in Weathy prison.

Carl wants Debbie to go to prison in Coronation Street

This evening in Coronation Street, Ronnie confided in Carl that he was worried that Debbie’s symptoms would get worse while she was in prison.

Feeling guilty that he’d framed Debbie for the crash, Carl promised Ronnie that he’d sort the situation out. However, instead of fessing up to the police like he’d originally planned to do, Carl backtracked instead.

Once Carl confessed to Debbie that he was the true culprit behind the wheel, Debbie told him that she already knew and was trying to protect him… because she’s his mum.

She then told her son that she’d found out she was pregnant with him when she was 17. Elaine then offered to bring Carl up as her own. This was so Debbie wouldn’t be tied down as a single mother.

Carl then blamed Debbie for his bad upbringing, always feeling as though Elaine never cared about him. He then told her that everything he’d done wrong in his life was down to her decision. He hoped she went to prison and it was what she deserved.

Coronation Street casts two familiar soap faces in Debbie prison scenes

Unfortunately, Debbie will receive an upsetting verdict in court on Friday (February 6.) Spoilers for next week have revealed that she has to prison and soon meets her new cellmate. Who? Lou Michaelis. Yes, Corrie has brought back Farrel Hegarty as villain Lou especially for these scenes.

The soap has also cast former Emmerdale star Kelli Hollis as the ‘Queen Bee’ of Weathy prison. She’s set to give poor Debbie a hard time inside.

A source told The Sun: ““Corrie bosses wanted someone who could really make an impact and knew Kelli would be perfect for the guest role.

“She’s been away from Emmerdale for over a decade now, so the soap fans are going to love seeing her back on our screens.

“Although her character is going to leave them shocked because she is not very nice at all and is set to make Debbie’s life hell.”

What else happened in Coronation Street tonight?

Abi saved Kevin

Kevin Webster headed up onto the garage roof to tend to a leak. But, then he wouldn't come down.

He shouted down to Brian, Abi and Sally that he'd lost so much and now didn't see the point in being alive anymore.

Abi headed up onto the roof to talk Kevin down while Brian just kept pestering him to return to work and fix his faulty clutch. Nice.

After telling Kevin that their marriage split was her fault and that she sadly loved him but not in the way he wanted her to anymore, Kevin realised that he needed to look after Jack and make him his priority. He then returned to solid ground as Jack agreed to move back in with him.
