Has Carla killed Becky? What happens next as she turns the tables on her kidnapper

Carla has been at Becky's mercy.

Unbeknownst to the other Coronation Street residents, Becky Swain has been keeping Carla Connor tied up in a cupboard. But tonight, Carla managed to get herself free. Has she killed Becky in the process?

Although the likes of Roy Cropper were originally suspicious over Carla’s whereabouts, it is now believed that she is on her travels. Though the truth of course is that Becky kidnapped her and kept her tied up in the airing cupboard of her flat.

Tonight (December 29), things started to unravel for Becky, as Kit Green got a bit closer to the truth and Carla managed to free herself from the shackles using shards of a broken plate.

Becky continued to torment Carla

As Carla begged Becky for her medication, Becky cruelly told her that her meds are a privilege not a right. When Carla remarked that Becky was playing with her life, she responded: “I know, fun, isn’t it?”

Becky then proceeded to tell Carla that her and Lisa Swain had enjoyed a nice romantic evening in which they drunk Carla’s bottle of Albarino, that she had been saving for a special occasion.

Not to be worn down easily, Carla pointed out that it wasn’t a fair fight and that once Lisa knows the truth she would obviously pick her. Becky insisted that wasn’t true. But Carla’s words clearly got to her, and when Carla asked Becky why she has to “hog-tie the competition” if she is so sure Lisa wants her, Becky saw red.

Becky screamed at Carla for ruining her life and threw a plate, which hit the wall next to Carla’s head and shattered into pieces. These shards came in handy for Carla later…

Kit grew suspicious of Carla’s whereabouts

Sarah continued to work extra hours to cover Carla’s absence at the factory. She told Kit that it was really unlike Carla not to be in touch at all.

As he flicked through Carla’s diary, he came across an entry with the words: “Hill. Rhubarb.” Telling Sarah it was something to do with Costello, he explained that he doesn’t actually know what it means.

Later, in the Rovers, Kit asked Betsy if she had heard from Carla. Betsy said she spoke to Carla on Christmas Day and mentioned that the hotel Carla is staying at is called Rhubarb Hill.

Kit looked up the hotel online and called them to check if Carla was there. It appeared to check out, but then Becky was seen chatting on the phone, in which she said: “Looks like he took the bait, no don’t take the website down. We need everyone to believe that hotel exists.”

Has Carla killed Becky?

After Becky opened the cupboard door once again, a now free Carla launched herself at Becky. She pushed Becky, who stumbled backwards before falling down and hitting her head on a table – which knocked her unconscious.

But has Carla killed Becky? Well, the answer to that is no.

Spoilers for the rest of the week reveal that a desperate Becky pushes on with her plan to flee with Lisa and Betsy. However, with Kit continuing to dig, she is running out of time.

Kit checks in with Asha, asking her to find out who accompanied Costello in the ambulance. Asha later tells Kit that according to her colleague, Costello kept repeating 3 words. Kit realises it’s a three word location reference. But Becky manages to get to Costello first, and he covers things up when Kit visits him.

Meanwhile, Lisa tells Becky that she will move to Spain with her but she wants to see Carla first and tell her the news in person. As Betsy and Lauren hang out at No.6, Becky decides it’s time to speed things up with horrifying consequences!

We also have Corriedale – the special Emmerdale and Coronation Street crossover episode – coming up next week, in which Lisa, Carla, Betsy and Becky will all feature.

What else happened in Coronation Street tonight?

Theo struck again

Todd apologised to Summer again for not being able to make the event she got him tickets for. She told him it was fine and that she just wanted to hang out. He asked what she was doing now and invited her to come shopping with him to find a birthday present for George.

Later, at George's party, Theo got jealous of Nick after Sarah joked that Nick had been Todd’s first crush. Nick asked Todd if he fancied jogging together as he misses running with Craig. As Nick touched Todd's arm, Theo fumed.

Theo then volunteered himself and Todd to go get a cake for George and he rushed Todd out of the door before he could grab a coat. When there, Theo accused Todd of being quiet and said: “it’s about Nick isn’t it?” He then accused Todd of having been all over Nick. Todd pleaded his innocence, but Theo wasn't having it. Theo then said: "I’m glad he gave you running tips, because you can make your own way home." Todd pointed out that they were miles away and it was freezing, but Theo got in the car and drove off.

Abi broke down over Carl's cheating

Believing he is in the clear and that Abi has brought his story about James, Carl was in high spirits.

Abi invited him to go shopping with her, but he joked about not being able to handle all those people. As she headed off, he gave her a kiss, feeling proud of himself that he had won her round.

However, he was wrong. Abi soon showed up on Tracy's doorstep and broke down in tears as she revealed that she knows Carl is cheating on her.

Maggie tried to win her son over again

Will attempted to talk to his dad about Eva – asking if he was sure she was telling the truth. Of course, he was only following his grandmother's instructions, who had bribed him to try get his dad back on her side.

Maggie then arrived at the pub herself, with a sob story about the lift in the hotel not working, and she looks downcast as she said how she doesn't cope well on her own.

Ben appeared to be won over, as he told his mum he wouldn't have her treating Eva like that again.
