We are eating our words because we were wrong about Todd and Theo’s special episode. When we heard about Corrie doing an episode filmed entirely through doorbell cameras, hidden cameras and even police bodycams, we were not convinced. We thought it might be an unnecessary gimmick. But how wrong we were! Because Monday’s episode, focusing on Todd and Theo was a triumph. Article Continues Below Read all the latest Spoilers Here’s everything we thought of that, and the rest of the action in this week’s Coronation Street review. Todd’s special episode could have been a disaster but it was a triumph (Credit: ITV) Todd and Theo’s special episode This episode could have been a disaster. It was certainly unusual – an entire ep filmed on CCTV, door bell cams, and other types of the cameras that are part of our everyday lives now. But it wasn’t a disaster at all. In fact it was clever, entertaining, shocking and generally brilliant. It gave us a real insight into the Todd and Theo abuse storyline, and added layers to what we already knew. Theo’s abuse of his boyfriend is so sinister, so manipulative, and so underhand that it really creeps us out. Him blaming Todd for everything to George and Christina – who he knows are Todd’s allies – was insidious and nasty. While phoning them from the hospital just added to that twist. It was hard to watch, really, as Theo twisted everything to suit his own narrative. But, we thought, never fear! There are hidden cameras, recording his every move. Todd can prove to himself and everyone else, that Theo’s not the man he claims to be. Except then Theo found the cameras, too. But we still have a tiny bit of hope that he’s got the footage safely stored somewhere. Though quite where, we’re not sure! We were interested in Theo’s mention of Danielle, his ex-wife, when he compared to Todd to her. We wonder if he was also violent towards her and if so, whether she could become a useful ally to Todd? We’re also hoping that Billy, Summer, Bernie and George will keep an eye on things and look out for their friend. Will and Megan were in bed in the hotel when Will’s dad showed up (Credit: ITV) Will and Megan Elsewhere, there was more grim storytelling happening as Will turned 16 and his abusive sports coach, Megan, took full advantage. This storyline is really nasty and makes us feel squirmy and uncomfortable, which is presumably the intention! Megan seems so nice but she’s manipulative and sinister underneath her sweet smile. She’s totally in control of smitten teenager Will, and it’s not nice to see. This week, the pair went to a hotel for some birthday time alone, but it all went wrong – or right! – when Will’s dad Ben and big brother Ollie tracked them down. Megan hid in the bathroom, while Will lied that he was spending time with the fictional Chloe. They got away with it this time, but we’re hoping that Ben will recognise Megan’s trainers, which he spotted in the room. Joanie lost her temper and trashed Sally’s tree (Credit: ITV) Coronation Street review: Sally and the girls We’ve said it before and we will say it again (and again!) but Sally Metcalfe is a national treasure. Making her and Tim foster parents to Shanice, Joanie and Brodie was a stroke of genius. We loved this week with Sally and Tim trying to make everything nice for ‘the girls’, only for Joanie to flip out and wreck it, and Sally to lose her temper. And the way they made up afterwards, with Sal admitting her flaws and Joanie being genuinely sorry, was great too. Their muddled family group really works and it’s a joy to watch. Dee-Dee’s gone to Singapore (Credit: ITV) Dee-Dee said goodbye Dee-Dee Bailey has left Weatherfield forever (although the door is still open), heading to Singapore with baby Laila. She broke brother James’s heart when she announced she was taking the little girl away. Though we did think that was a bit rich given he was all set to take her to America about ten minutes after she was born! We were also a bit concerned about Dee-Dee leaving just before her favourite uncle’s wedding, and did she even tell her mum she was off? She definitely didn’t mention her! Bit odd. Anyway, James did not cover himself in glory this week. He reacted badly to Dee-Dee going and even sent an indiscreet message to secret lover Carl Webster. He asked to meet him at the hotel, and suggested he’d make it worth Carl’s while! Saucy! But then James did redeem himself by giving Dee-Dee his blessing and admitting he understood that she was going because it was the best thing for her and Laila. Except Abi’s seen the message, and while Carl managed to blag his way out of it, we’re sure there’s more to come… Read more: 8 huge things to expect from Coronation Street this Christmas Share Good to Know Share By Kerry Barrett Dec 20 2025 By Kerry Barrett Dec 20 2025 Next Story
