Coronation Street schedule upheaval as soap cancelled for half of the week due to annoying reason

Just when we were getting used to soap power hour

This week’s Coronation Street schedule is keeping us on our toes as the soap is cancelled for half of the week.

Yes, despite soap power hour only having just kicked in last month, there’s already a slight schedule change happening.

But, fear not, it’s only temporary – and for a reason we’ve come to know all too well.

Coronation Street schedule change this week

Coronation Street usually airs from 8.30pm-9pm every weekday on ITV as part of the new soap power hour.

However, this week will see the soap air on the old days of Monday, Wednesday and Friday – albeit temporarily.

Corrie will air as usual tonight (Monday, February 2) from 8.30-9pm. However, there will be no Tuesday episode. This is due to (you guessed it) the sports taking over. Live coverage of the EFL Cup will air on ITV instead.

The ITV soap will return to screens on Wednesday (February 4), between 8.30-9pm. There won’t be an episode on Thursday though due to coverage of the Six Nations Live.

On Friday, February 6, Corrie will air once again for the last episode of the week between 8.30-9pm.

For those who don’t wish to wait until the evening, the episodes will also be available on ITVX and YouTube from 7am on the day of transmission.

What to expect from Coronation Street this week

This week in Coronation Street, Debbie Webster prepares to go to court and to receive her verdict.

Beforehand, Carl Webster confesses to her that he framed her for the Corriedale crash. Debbie tells him that she always knew but was trying to protect him because… she’s his mum.

As Debbie heads to court and awaits her fate though, will Carl confess to anyone else?

Also this week, Jodie tries to intervene with Shona’s plans to track down their dad.

Elsewhere, Kevin’s not coping well and heads up onto the roof to fix a leak at the garage. Worried about him, Abi follows him up there and tries to get him to recognise that he needs some support. Can she help Kevin before it’s too late?
