Jodie Ramsay has been telling sister Shona some huge lies in Coronation Street as her villain arc has started.

Shona’s half-sister used the story of a domestic abuse survivor and claimed it as her own, to make Shona feel sorry for her.

But, fans aren’t impressed with the way the storyline is heading as the show shapes up Jodie to be yet another Weatherfield villain.

Jodie twists domestic abuse truth in Coronation Street

This week on the cobbles, newcomer Jodie started to show her true colours to viewers. She’s not exactly the sweet little sister Shona remembered her to be.

After dripping poison into Lily’s ear about how Shona would never love her as much as her biological daughter Harper, Jodie started to suffer a major panic attack after locking herself out of house in front of Bethany.

She’d just been to a domestic abuse survivors’ support group and was struggling to cope. Once Shona had rushed to the rescue, Jodie then decide to open up about ‘her’ past.

She then told her sister all about her abusive boyfriend and how she’d suffered a miscarriage at the hands of his abuse. She then made a run for it during the crash.

However, Shona was completely unaware that this wasn’t Jodie’s story. She was trying to make Shona feel guilty for abandoning her as a child. She’d actually stolen the story of another person at the group – Ellie.

Coronation Street fans blast soap for newcomer villain decision

With Jodie turning out to have some dark secrets and being a new soap villain, Coronation Street viewers have taken to social media to share their frustration.

They’ve grown unhappy over the soap’s constant decision to make recent newcomers villains. Think Becky, Carl, Theo, Megan, Jodie.

One fan on X complained: So Coronation Street have introduced ANOTHER nasty character, when are we going to get someone nice, I always used to like that Corrie whenever they had dark storylines, they always had something amusing happening to balance it out, but now that doesn’t seem to happen.”

Another person commented: “I feel the same, I commented on another post ‘Can a person just visit without becoming a villain?’ They’ve completely unbalanced the show.”

A third added: “Completely unnecessary as a villain. You already have four, Kate. When will the producers get it into their heads Corrie doesn’t always need a bad guy/gal, never mind five?!”

A fourth fan moaned: “Worst part is that all of the villains have not even been in Corrie for a year. First it was Mick, then Theo, then Carl, it only took February – April for all 3 of them to appear. Then you got Becky, Maggie, maybe Will as a villain or Megan, then Jodie.

“At this point any new characters that show up you can only expect is already up to no good.”

Do they have a point?
