Viewers are now convinced the crossover is secretly lining up a jaw-dropping baby swap. And if they’re right, the fallout could haunt both Coronation Street and Emmerdale for years. The brand-new Corriedale trailer, which landed yesterday (Monday, December 16), promises absolute chaos. A massive car pile-up leaves familiar faces fighting for their lives. There will be heroic rescues, nail-biting near-misses and plenty of moments that’ll have us watching through our fingers. But amid all the mayhem, fans think something even bigger is bubbling under the surface. So where does this baby-swap theory come from, who could be caught up in it, and why are viewers convinced the clues are hiding in plain sight? Corrie’s Kit Green, Carla Connor, Asha Alahan, Shona Platt and James Bailey are caught up in the chaos, alongside Emmerdale heavyweights Cain and Charity Dingle, Robert and Sarah Sugden, Jacob Gallagher and Joe Tate. And that’s before David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Aaron Dingle and Lisa Swain enter the mix. As panic sets in, Kit takes charge while a rattled Carla tries to calm an injured victim. Shona and David are left hurt at the roadside, with Jacob jumping in to help. Asha and Cain also tackle more casualties nearby. Elsewhere, Kevin and Abi frantically search for Debbie. Somehow the baby will have some rare disease only Ross has and the truth will be exposed.” Others pointed out the tumour Shona’s baby has, but fans are sure the soap would find a way to explain it away. Over on X, others also mooting the idea: “Shona and Charity baby swap,” said one. “Honestly if they do a Corrie/Emmerdale baby swap storyline through this crossover and reveal it in like 10 years, I’ll be impressed,” shared another.
