1. Betsy’s grisly discovery triggers flashforward scenes

A rattled Betsy is grilled by police over a dead body – but the tape rewind reveals the interview actually takes place months later, in April. The episode then skips between now and the day of the murder, dropping clues and cranking up the tension.

By the end, five characters are flagged as possible victims. One will die… but who, and at whose hands? Weatherfield’s future just turned lethal.

2. Carl plays with fire

Carl rings his dodgy mate Jez and starts sketching out a seriously hot-headed plan to torch the hotel. Jez rocks up to Chariot Square pretending to be a handyman, snaps the fire exits and CCTV while Ronnie’s distracted, then scarps sharpish. Later, Carl fine-tunes the blaze blueprint with him… but Ronnie isn’t fooled.

He clocks Jez, snaps his photo, and warns him Carl’s trouble. Confronting Carl, Ronnie lays it down – Debbie comes first. Carl fires back that Debbie’s his mum. Mic drop… but whose side will she really choose?

3. Cell block shock

Debbie slips up and calls Lou Michaelis ‘Abi,’ quickly admitting she’s battling early-onset dementia. Word travels fast behind bars, and it’s not long before fellow inmate Paula clocks her.

Lou issues a quiet warning – steer well clear, Paula’s poison. But the damage is done. As Lou walks away, Paula swoops in, reminding Debbie she once barred her from the hotel and promising she hasn’t forgotten. In prison, grudges don’t get time off… and Debbie’s just put herself on someone’s hit list.

4. Kevin and Ronnie wants answers

Debbie’s trying to keep a low profile in her cell when Paula storms in, sobbing about her dumped boyfriend who’s locked up for aggravated burglary. Debbie steps in with some comforting words – but will Paula bite the hand that helps her?

Meanwhile, Ronnie and Kevin swing by for a visit. Ronnie drops the bomb – Carl believes Debbie is his mum. Shocked, Debbie admits it’s true. With Carl now in the mix, what will Ronnie do next – and can he handle the chaos brewing behind bars?

5. Daniel’s apology breaks the tension

With Leanne away, Sam tells Daniel he’s planning to revise in the salon flat, keeping a close eye on Megan. She takes a call from Will, letting him know she has the flat to herself for a few nights. Will spins a fib to Ben, claiming he’s heading to his mate Ethan’s, but Ben isn’t convinced – until Daniel shows up, apologises, and Ben lets Will go.

Holding his trusty holdall, Will heads to the flat as Sam watches like a hawk, buzzed in by Megan herself. Is Sam finally closing in on her secret, or will Will’s smooth moves keep him in the dark a little longer?

6. Sam keeps Will close

Determined to catch Megan out, Sam sneaks into the salon flat and nearly gives her a heart attack. Once Megan’s out of sight, he tidies up a shelf, leaving subtle clues of his presence.

Later, Megan fills Will in on the unexpected intruder, warning him that Sam is onto them and they’ll need to play nice. Quick on the uptake, Will starts plotting his next move – ready to stay one step ahead in this game of cat and mouse.

7. Sam spies of Megan and Will

In the Bistro, Will brushes off Nick’s concerns about Sam, then slyly offers him vodka to hang out. Sam happily accepts, hoping to fish for info. At the precinct, Will swears his bond with Megan is strictly professional, but Sam’s doubts linger – especially when Daniel shows up, and Will dashes off, leaving Sam in the hot seat. Later, Sam finally fires up his hidden camera app and spots Megan and Will entering the flat – could this be the proof he’s been hunting?

Meanwhile, Megan flips the script. Nick returns Sam’s phone, but the battery’s dead, frustrating the amateur sleuth. During a girls’ night out with Eva, Toyah, and Leanne, Leanne teases Megan, hinting the flat has been doubling as a love nest. Megan corners Sam and warns him: if he spills the beans, no one will believe him – he’s not as clever as he thinks. With a recharged phone, Sam checks the footage again. Has he finally caught them red-handed?

8. Maggie has words with Lauren

Maggie pops Lauren Bolton on the rota so that she can’t attend her date with Ollie.

Later on, with Tim and Ben enjoying a game of darts in the pub, Lauren enjoys flirting with Ollie.

However, Maggie catches Lauren slacking on the job and orders her to focus on work…

9. Family feud behind bars

Carl confides in Kit that he’s planning to report Ronnie for assault as tensions are rising. Later, Debbie gets a shock when a prison guard announces that her brother Carl has booked a visit.

In the visiting room, Debbie pleads her case, promising that once she’s out, she’ll do everything she can to make amends. Will Carl soften, or is he ready to keep his walls up? Family drama never takes a day off, even behind bars.

10. Jodie is the catalyst of trouble

Mal tries to impress Bernie with a bag of ‘healing’ crystals, but she’s unimpressed. Bernie snaps at Jodie over a wrongly served toastie, while Jodie quietly plots her revenge.

Elsewhere, David ropes Brian into giving Lily a paper round, but she dumps the papers, prompting Hope to step in and clash with Rita. Brian refuses to budge when Lily asks for her job back, while Jodie whispers in Hope’s ear about Brian and Rita’s gossip. Meanwhile, Mal invites Bernie up to the flat – will sparks fly?
