1. Carl feels guilty

Carl’s conscience decides it’s had quite enough of being ignored and comes knocking hard. After overhearing a devastated Summer telling Nina that Billy would still be alive if Debbie hadn’t been drink-driving, Carl is left squirming with guilt. The words hit like a runaway tram.

Matters get even heavier when Ronnie warns Carl that sending Debbie to prison could send her dementia into fast-forward. Suddenly, doing the right thing feels less like a choice and more like a ticking time bomb.

2. Debbie’s state of confusion

Things spiral when Ronnie grows alarmed after Debbie accidentally calls him ‘Ray.’ Alarm bells ring, and Ronnie confides his fears to Carl. After an awkward heart-to-heart, Ronnie fills Debbie in… and she bolts.

3. Debbie tells the truth

The truth finally crashes out though as Carl tearfully admits he was the one behind the wheel on the night of the accident. But Debbie isn’t shocked. Instead, she drops a bombshell of her own – she’s known all along and has been protecting him. Carl’s jaw is on the floor.

He’s left reeling as Debbie reveals just how much she’s sacrificed. Will he accept her protection, or finally step up and face the music?

4. Abi comforts Kevin

Elsewhere, Kevin is quietly unravelling. One glance at a filthy ‘World’s Best Dad’ mug is enough to send him into a guilt-fuelled tailspin. At the garage, Bryan’s clutch problem barely registers, but a comment about a leaky roof proves to be the final straw. Kevin snaps, hurls an empty vodka bottle and storms off, climbing onto the factory roof in full meltdown mode.

Bryan, Sally and Tim try talking him down, but Kevin refuses to budge. With emotions running sky-high, Abi climbs up to join him. Can she reach him before things fall apart completely?
