2. Carl confesses

Overhearing Summer break down to Nina about how much she misses Billy – and blaming Debbie’s drink-driving for his death – Carl is hit with a wave of guilt. Ronnie warns him that sending Debbie to prison could accelerate her dementia, and Carl resolves to do the right thing, determined to make amends.

Meanwhile, Debbie causes Ronnie to worry even more when she accidentally calls him ‘Ray.’ After a tense chat with Carl, Ronnie confides his fears about Debbie, prompting her to dash out.

In a heart-wrenching moment, Carl tearfully admits he was behind the wheel the night of the crash. Debbie surprises him by revealing she’s always known but has been protecting him. She then drops the mother of all secrets. How will Carl handle the truth, and can their fragile bond survive such a bombshell?

3. Debbie goes to court

Debbie’s day in court is fast approaching, and Ronnie hustles her along at the hotel, making sure they won’t be late. When Ryan hands over the flat key – left behind by Carl at reception – Debbie’s heart sinks. There’s one last thing she has to do, though. She finds Carl and pleads with him to come to court, telling him it would mean the world.

Later, as Debbie takes her seat in court, she’s comforted by familiar faces – Ronnie, Kevin, Abi, and Ryan – showing up in support. Her spirits lift… until she notices Carl isn’t there. With her nerves on edge, Debbie is called forward to receive her sentence. The tension is unbearable. Will justice be served, or will the verdict break her heart even further?

4. Kevin needs support

Jack, fed up with a messy living room and an empty fridge, heads to school – but returns with Abi in tow. He tells a devastated Kevin that he’ll be staying with her for a few days, giving Kevin space to process his struggles. Heartbroken, Kevin watches his son leave, bag in hand.

Guilt hits hard when Kevin spots the ‘World’s Best Dad’ mug buried in the sink. Later, Bryan drops by, asking him to check the clutch, but Kevin barely registers it. When Bryan mentions the leaky roof, Kevin snaps. A vodka bottle flies, narrowly missing Bryan, as Kevin storms to the factory roof, desperate for help. Sally, Tim, and Bryan plead with him to come down, but Kevin refuses to budge.

Finally, Abi climbs up to join him. Can she talk him down?

5. Jodie’s up to no good

Shona finally snaffles the phone number for her Dad’s old mate, Bernard Bennett. But sneaky Jodie’s ears are all over it. She dials Bernard behind Shona’s back and sweet-talks him into doing her a little favour.

Later on, Tim rings David and Shona to say his taxi’s outside, meter ticking. Jodie tells them it’s for her and dashes out before anyone can blink.

Meanwhile, Sarah decides David needs a breather and whisks him off for a cheeky lunch.

Back at No.8, Jodie sneaks in, checks the coast is clear, and pulls a little surprise from her bag. What could possibly go wrong?

Bernie’s hoping for sparks… just not these ones. When Mal turns up to rewire Roy’s flat, she does her best to mask her awkwardness and even suggests a cut-price alternative. Roy won’t budge, still feeling guilty over Mal’s marital meltdown.

Later, Bernie and Dev spot Mal in the Rovers, prompting a hushed heart-to-heart. Mal promises he’ll keep their shared history under wraps and disappear once the job’s done. But fate has other ideas. When Mal wanders into the café to find Bernie drowning in the lunch rush, he offers a helping hand. Teeth clenched, Bernie accepts. Can they keep things strictly business… or will old voltage cause another short circuit?

7. Todd struggles with his finances

Todd’s wallet is officially on life support. When Theo heads off to Doncaster to see his mum, Todd is left staring at a lonely tenner and wondering how long it’ll last (spoiler: not long). In the café, George forgets his wallet and Todd is forced to cough up his last note. Ouch. A pity drink at the Rovers is politely declined, then Theo texts to say he’s staying overnight, sending Todd’s mood – and bank balance – into freefall.

Back home, a bare fridge raises eyebrows. Summer offers to shop, while Todd sneakily leaves Theo a voicemail admitting he’s skint. When Sarah mentions Todd owes Harry £10, he snaps. Will Sarah clock that Todd’s broke… and barely holding it together?
