Dee-Dee’s exit Last month, Channique Sterling-Brown confirmed the news that she is set to leave Coronation Street as Dee-Dee Bailey after three years. She shared: “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles. Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.” At the end of October, Channique then announced that she’d finished filming her final scenes, declaring ‘it’s a wrap’ over on Instagram. This means that Dee-Dee’s exit scenes will air soon, with the character leaving before the year is out. The full details of her exit are yet to be revealed, but it won’t be too long before viewers will be sadly saying goodbye to Dee-Dee. But, how will she go? Could she be killed off? Could she move away with new partner Ollie? Reunite with mum Aggie? He’s set to be killed off (Credit: ITV) 3. Billy’s tragic end Daniel Brocklebank has announced that he will be leaving his role of vicar Billy Mayhew during the festive period. His exit storyline is set to be an issue-based one, with reports suggesting that it will end in Billy’s tragic death. A source told The Sun: “Corrie bosses are busy plotting how to kill off Billy, having decided to axe Daniel earlier this year. “There aren’t any plans to bring him back onto the soap. So it makes sense to make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be. “It’s likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas/New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.” Fans have speculated that Theo Silverton could be the one to kill Billy, or that Billy will suffer a relapse and turn to drugs. How could he die though? Theo’s been abusing Todd (Credit: ITV) 4. Todd and Theo special episode Todd and Theo’s relationship has been intensifying in a horrible way recently, with Theo becoming increasingly more controlling and violent towards his partner. Last month saw Theo rage at Todd for damaging his new car, going onto abuse him behind closed doors. But, this is only the start for the couple’s storyline as the soap prepares for a ‘never been done before’ special episode focusing on their story. Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks said: “We’ve got quite a bit of a journey to go on with these two, there’s going to be some really dark and quite important episodes which will be raw and authentic. “There’s a really brilliant, powerful episode that will focus on primarily on their relationship that has never been done before. I don’t think anyone has told the story in this way.” Kate then added: “This story will naturally progress and Todd will realise what is going on and that Theo’s behaviour is not acceptable. The story has been told before but not in this way, and it will keep audiences invested.” Will’s dating older woman, Megan (Credit: ITV) 5. Will’s grooming secret The Driscolls have officially arrived onto the cobbles and have moved into the Rovers! Maggie’s already shown that she likes to take charge, while Eva’s brought some bright and exciting ideas with her. The family is set to be at the heart of the community, which lots of exciting plans ahead for them. As well as being at the centre of this year’s Christmas Day episode, the family are also said to have a ‘suitcase full of secrets.’ Once huge secret so far is that Will Driscoll is being groomed by older woman and athletics coach, Megan. His family is unaware of their relationship. But, how long will it stay a secret for? You don’t want to mess with Becky (Credit: ITV) 6. Becky’s villain era Costello wants Becky out of the country and Becky’s alright with that (so long as Lisa and Betsy come with her). With Lisa insisting on marrying Carla, Becky’s now threatened Costello. She’s told him that she’ll stay in Weatherfield for as long as it takes for her to win Lisa back. And, if he has an issue with that, he’ll be putting his daughter in danger. This is just the start of Becky’s villain era though, as Sharon Marshall recently confirmed that Becky’s ‘going to be the next big Corrie villain.’ BIG. So, we can expect a lot more scheming and plotting from the newcomer. Will they tie the knot? (Credit: ITV) 7. Weddings galore At the moment, two couples on the Street are planning their weddings after getting engaged earlier this year. Debbie and Ronnie are busy planning big things in true Debbie Webster style, hoping to make their big day extra special. Of course, in the midst of the excitement though is also the sad reality of Debbie’s dementia. Another couple on the Street set to get wed is that of Carla and Lisa. What was meant to be an exciting time for the duo has now been tainted by the arrival of Becky Swain who now poses to be a huge threat for Carla. Which woman will Lisa ultimately choose? Will there be a Swarla wedding to be had at all? Shona and David face a big decision (Credit: ITV) 8. Difficult baby news Shona Platt is pregnant. And, the whole Platt family is filled with some much-needed joy as Shona prepares for her baby scan. After missing the first scan due to David being stuck in a lift (typical), the couple are now ready to find out the gender of their little one. However, this week saw David and Shona get some bad news. There’s a mass on their unborn baby’s neck and it could be cancerous. A special episode then saw David and Shona’s perspectives as they contemplated having major surgery that could put both Shona’s and the baby’s lives at risk. With Shona insisting on having the surgery, will it go smoothly?
