Upcoming Coronation Street spoilers: Deadly flashforward, Swarla wedding, and Debbie prison hell

It’s been quite the week in Coronation Street, and the drama is only set to intensify if spoilers are anything to go by. 2026 is set to be filled with exciting storylines and twists.

This week on screen, we’ve seen Debbie Webster go to prison, and Todd be left without any money. What a rollercoaster!

Beyond this week, we’re looking forward to the new few months of exciting Corrie drama. Here’s what’s to come on the cobbles.

1. Todd and Theo’s abusive relationship in Coronation Street spoilers

Todd and Theo’s relationship has been intensifying in a horrible way recently, with Theo becoming increasingly more controlling and violent towards his partner.

Poor Billy Mayhew was the only one who knew what Theo had being doing but now he’s sadly dead (thanks to Theo who left him to die in a burning minibus).

The storyline will continue to play out for some time yet, with Corrie producer Kate Brooks revealing: “This is not something that’s wrapped up after a couple of months.

“This is ongoing. and we will continue to tell the story about this domestic abuse truthfully and realistically.”

2. Will’s grooming secret

Viewers will know that fitness coach Megan Walsh is currently grooming teen Will Driscoll.

But, she is set to become even more manipulative, with her storyline now bringing in young Sam Blakeman.

Kate Brooks teased: “Sam gets wind that’s something’s amiss, and we will see the lengths that Megan will go to to manipulate Sam and to keep him quiet.”

She then said, speaking of Leanne, Toyah and Eva: “You’ve got these three very strong, very fiery women, sisters, whose boys have been manipulated by Megan.

“This woman who they considered their friend…”

3. Shona’s sister Jodie

Shona’s just given birth to baby Harper, but things become worrying when Harper needs a blood transfusion.

With the arrival of sister Jodie on the Street, she becomes a bit of a ‘lifesaver.’

However, Kate did tease that Jodie might have an ‘ulterior motive’ for worming her way back into Shona’s life. And, it’s going to cause the Platt family trouble…

She’s already lied about her domestic abuse history and has tried to stop Shona from tracking down their dad, but what is Jodie hiding? It looks as though she’s now hoping to steal David from underneath Shona’s nose. Eek!

4. A deadly flashforward

In special scenes to come, a flashforward will air in which someone will die. And, there will be five potential victims in the running.

Kate said: “One of our characters has found a dead body on the street, and we don’t know who it is.

“So, there are five potential victims and we will take the audience on a journey for them to try and figure out who that body is and what happened.”

She then explained:”It will involve an awful lot of the community.

“I don’t think I’ve ever told a story that involves quite as many character groups. In other words, everyone’s affected by the story. And there are so many twists and so many turns.”

5. Wedding bells for Carla and Lisa

Carla and Lisa got back together recently. And the good news doesn’t just stop there. They’ll also resume their engagement and marry.

A happy ending for the couple, finally!

Corrie boss Kate shared the joyful news: “So wedding bells will certainly be ringing in the not too distant future, and they’ll get their happy after.”

6. Debbie’s prison hell

During the Corriedale episode, Carl Webster framed Debbie and put her unconscious body in the driver’s seat of his car. This was to frame her for the crash that killed Billy Mayhew.

Debbie then took to the stand and pleaded guilty in a bid to protect Carl Webster – her secret son!

She then told Carl the truth about being his mum. And, he admitted to Debbie that he framed her for the crash.

Poor Debbie is now in prison for two years and eight months and is set to come face to face with villain Lou Michaelis inside. And, if that wasn’t enough, ‘Queen Bee’ of the prison played by Kelli Hollis is set to cause tension for Debs too.

7. Bernie’s grief

Bernie’s buried a lot of grief under the surface over the years, and now it’s all set to come rising to the top in a new storyline involving Roy Cropper.

Dealing with the death of son-in-law Billy, Bernie’s now turned to drink and drugs with stranger Mal which threatens to ‘test’ her and Dev’s marriage.

Kate shared: “She’s buried a lot of grief.

“So we wanted to kind of explore what would happen if she had to deal with another death, another really tragic death, and how that grief manifests.”

8. Roy’s dating hell

Roy Cropper’s decided to grab romance by the horns and go on a date with his new friend – Alice. He’d never met up her in person though but wanted to take the risk.

With Nina fearing that Roy might be talking to a catfish, it appears that Roy had a huge shock on his hands as a guy called Mal turned up and revealed that he’s Alice’s husband. And, that Alice is having an affair! Poor Roy!

Where will this storyline escalate to? And, will we ever meet Alice?

9. Cassie’s exit

Cassie Plummer will be leaving the Street as actress Claire Sweeney joins the UK tour of Annie the Musical, in the role of Miss Hannigan.

A Coronation Street spokesperson told The Sun: “We wish Claire every success playing Miss Hannigan and congratulate her on being offered a role she has long wanted to play.

“Cassie will be on the cobbles until the summer during which time she will continue to make her presence felt in Weatherfield leading up to a great exit storyline.”

But, what will Cassie’s ‘explosive’ storyline be?

10. Jim McDonald’s death

Steve McDonald’s set for a huge new storyline that revolves around him receiving the news that Jim McDonald has passed away.

The character will be killed off off-screen, with a source telling RadioTimes that ‘Jim’s death will rock the boat for hapless Steve.’

Steve and Jim last left each other on bad terms, so how will Steve react to his death?
