It’s been quite the week in Coronation Street, and the drama is only set to intensify if spoilers are anything to go by. With the festive season just around the corner, fans can expect some big things.

This week on screen, we’ve seen Carla get rejected by Lisa, and Carl rush to save Debbie’s wedding day mix-up. What a rollercoaster!

Beyond this week, we’re looking forward to the new few months of exciting Corrie drama. Here’s what’s to come on the cobbles.

1. Corriedale

In January 2026, a special ‘soap power hour’ will be introduced over on ITV which means that there will be a brand-new soap schedule to get used to. But, don’t worry, it’s fairly straight forward. Every weekday, half an hour of Emmerdale will air from 8pm-8.30pm. Coronation Street will then follow for half an hour from 8.30pm-9pm.

To mark the change, a one-off special soap crossover episode will air. Already being titled Corriedale, the episode will involve an exciting stunt in ‘never been done before’ scenes.

The ‘nail-biting’ episode will see characters from both soaps interact for the first time in a huge first for the ITV soap world.

So far, Danny Miller and Vicky Myers have been announced as just two of the names involved in the episode.

Viewers are also able to vote for which character pairing they’d like to see on-screen. The options are Charity Dingle and Carla Connor, Ross Barton and Tracy Barlow, Nicola King and Roy Cropper, and Sam Dingle and Kirk Sutherland.

It has also been revealed that the episode will revolve around a huge car pile-up.

More details will be announced nearer the time of transmission.

2. Dee-Dee’s exit

Last month, Channique Sterling-Brown confirmed the news that she is set to leave Coronation Street as Dee-Dee Bailey after three years.

She shared: “After three whirlwind years of Dee-Dee Bailey, I’ve decided to say farewell to the cobbles. Bittersweet to be saying goodbye, but I am so excited for pastures new and enjoying the end of playing Princess Diana and her many expressions.”

At the end of October, Channique then announced that she’d finished filming her final scenes, declaring ‘it’s a wrap’ over on Instagram.

This means that Dee-Dee’s exit scenes will air soon, with the character leaving before the year is out.

The character is set to move to Singapore to further her career.

3. Billy’s tragic end in Coronation Street spoilers

Daniel Brocklebank has announced that he will be leaving his role of vicar Billy Mayhew during the festive period.

His exit storyline is set to be an issue-based one, with reports suggesting that it will end in Billy’s tragic death.

A source told The Sun: “Corrie bosses are busy plotting how to kill off Billy, having decided to axe Daniel earlier this year.

“There aren’t any plans to bring him back onto the soap. So it makes sense to make his exit the most impactful and explosive it can be.

“It’s likely Billy will be a focus point of the Christmas/New Year storylines, with fans expected to be at the edge of their seats in the run-up.”

Fans have speculated that Theo Silverton could be the one to kill Billy, or that Billy will suffer a relapse and turn to drugs. How could he die though?

Recently, Daniel Brocklebank announced that he has now finished filming his final scenes and has left the soap.

4. Todd and Theo special episode in Coronation Street spoilers

Todd and Theo’s relationship has been intensifying in a horrible way recently, with Theo becoming increasingly more controlling and violent towards his partner.

This week saw Gary report a loud crash coming from Todd and Theo’s flat.

This all gears up an upcoming ‘never been done before’ special episode focusing on their story.

Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks said: “We’ve got quite a bit of a journey to go on with these two, there’s going to be some really dark and quite important episodes which will be raw and authentic.

“There’s a really brilliant, powerful episode that will focus on primarily on their relationship that has never been done before. I don’t think anyone has told the story in this way.”

Kate then added: “This story will naturally progress and Todd will realise what is going on and that Theo’s behaviour is not acceptable. The story has been told before but not in this way, and it will keep audiences invested.”
