The 46-year-old actress, who played Kat Slater in the BBC soap, is said to have been assaulted at the Partridge pub in Bromley after refusing requests for a photograph. Ashmall explained that the police and an ambulance arrived at the scene, and while most of the cast – including Jessie – were left unscathed after the attack, Jason required stitches for his injury. She said of former EastEnders star Jessie: “She was furious with what happened.” Police are said to be continuing with their enquiries, and as yet no arrests have been made. Jessie and her on-screen partner, Shane Richie, took a ‘break’ from EastEnders in 2015 to star in the BBC spin-off series Redwater. As it turned out, it was the last we’d see of them – appearing on This Morning together in January 2016, the actors revealed that they wouldn’t be returning to Walford.
