7 Up star Sue reveals she's finally got married as show returns for big 70 Up finale
The 'longest engagement known to man' is over7 Up original Sue Fitzgerald has revealed she’s finally got married to her partner Glenn.
Sue will share her happy news in the highly-anticipated Up finale, 70 Up, which airs on telly next week.
Fans have been following Sue since she was just seven years old, sharing in her ups and downs over the decades.

They will know she divorced when she was 35, before meeting a new partner called Glenn in 42 Up, which aired in 1998.
In the last episode, 63 Up, viewers learned that Sue and Glenn had been engaged for more than a decade but had never made it official.
Well, we can now reveal that they finally have. Yippee!
7 Up star Sue finally marries partner Glenn
Sue has rejoined her Up series co-stars for a last emotional instalment into their lives. 70 Up will air over two episodes and will bring viewers up to speed with where they all are now aged 70.
Sue will be seen relaxing in her back garden with her two now-grown up children. Fans of the series will likely remember the trials and tribulations of her love life from over the years.
Sue got married to her husband Billy when she was 24 years old. They had two children together. But by the age of 35, they were divorced.
In 42 Up, which aired in 1998, Sue revealed that she had a new partner. “I’m with someone now, which is nice,” she said at the time.
Viewers may remember Sue singing karaoke as her new man, Glenn, looked on.

‘Glenn got fed up’
In 63 Up, which aired seven years ago, Sue confirmed she and Glenn were still together. She updated fans: “We’ve been together now over 20 years. We’re still not married. Never say never. But, no plans.”
She’d previously joked she was in “the longest engagement known to man”.
Well, things have now changed.
Sue shares the happy news by recalling their recent nuptials on the beach. Fans will see her say: “Glenn decided he’s fed up of being on the longest engagement of all time. So he asked me to marry him on the beach in Goa.
“He wrote, ‘Will you marry me?’ in the sand and bought me a ring. Another ring. I’ve got two engagement rings now!””
She adds: “So it was very romantic and very lovely. I couldn’t have wanted a better wedding really.”

When is 70 Up on?
70 Up will air from 9pm on Tuesday September 15, 2026. Viewers will be able to watch it on ITV1 and ITVX.
Meanwhile, Sue showed herself in Up at work over the years. She had a series of office jobs. Most recently, she worked in the legal faculty at the University of London.
However, she’s now retired. 70 Up viewers will also see Sue sharing her honest thoughts on retirement – and the struggle she’s had with it.
