‘He’s everywhere!’ Coronation Street fans convinced soap has a Kit Green problem as they declare: ‘Please stop!’
Kit arrived on the cobbles in 2024Coronation Street fans are fuming at the latest Kit Green storyline twist, as they plead with the soap to stop putting him “everywhere”.
Jacob Roberts joined the iconic soap as Kit Green back in 2024, as Bernie Winter tracked him down after giving him up for adoption when he was a baby. For a while there was quite a lot of tension between Kit and his family, but eventually even he decided to put down roots on the cobbles.
But now, two years later, Kit seems to be popping up in quite a lot of storylines. It was recently revealed that Kit would be diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. And while that storyline has just started, he also just slept with Bethany – beginning an entirely different plot.
And now fans are worried the soap is overusing him, and are wanting the soap to just focus on one main storyline for Kit – rather than give him numerous at once.
Kit’s current Coronation Street drama
Over the last two years, Kit has been involved in quite a lot of Coronation Street storylines. Once he embarked on a relationship with Sarah, he was immediately moulded into the Platt family – and therefore their drama.
But not only that, because of Kit’s profession as a detective, he has ended up arresting and being part of numerous storylines where he wouldn’t necessarily have been near.
Recently though, Kit has been on our screens quite a bit. After he discovered that Sarah killed Theo, he was determined to help her in any way that he could, which meant going head-to-head with her ex Gary for a while. However, Sarah realised that Kit was actually struggling with everything and decided to end their relationship.
While it appeared Kit wasn’t coping well from being dumped, it was actually revealed he had been diagnosed with breast cancer, and was struggling to accept what was happening.
On top of this, Jodie was making her move for him. But Kit wasn’t interested in her and ended up sleeping with Sarah’s daughter, Bethany.
So, with a lot going on with Kit at the moment, some Coronation Street fans are asking: Is it too much?
Fans fear soap is ‘overusing’ Kit
Taking to social media, fans have debated whether or not Kit has been overused recently, with many pleading to the soap to keep the focus on his cancer storyline.
One penned: “Almost feel sea sick with Kit showing up in every single storyline.”
Another added: “I don’t even care about Kit’s storyline at the moment. He is the most overused character on the show. Now we have another Kit centred storyline. Please make it stop!”
“Can we have one episode without Kit or Jodie appearing? Such overused characters” a third commented.
A fourth annoyed fan wrote: “Why do they shove these characters like Kit and Lisa down our throats? They are overused now.”
“I would really rather Corrie didn’t do the whole Kit and Bethany thing. They should focus the entire storyline on Kit’s cancer, it has potential of being really well done. They shouldn’t ruin it”, another pleaded.
However, some fans are glad to have more Kit on their screens. One penned: “Can everyone ease up on Kit? It makes sense that he slept with Bethany because he has a lot going on and is clearly troubled.”
“I really hope Kit will be okay. Glad to see Coronation Street raising this kind of awareness. Looking forward to watching it all unfold” another added.
