Alan Carr joins The Masked Singer as he announces show twist with new 'Wild Card' detectives

The TV star and comedian announced his big news about the prime time ITV show on This Morning.
Alan also spilled the tea on a massive twist coming to The Masked Singer.
He announced that he won’t be the only new judge – as several surprise sleuths will also be joining him on the panel.
Alan Carr joins The Masked Singer
The news about Alan came after the official Masked Singer Instagram account began dropping clues about a huge surprise. Clues were added, including a postcard from Greece and a football referee’s red card in a wallet.
Alan then revealed his new job as a Masked Singer judge on This Morning, moments before The Masked Singer confirmed on social media.
The TV funnyman, who won last year’s Celebrity Traitors, is seen removing a giant Masked Singer logo mask from his head to chants of “take it off, take it off”.
He says: “It’s me, Alan Carr. I’m sick and tired of watching the panel make terrible guesses. I’ve been Red Panda. I’ve been Teeth. I don’t know why they thought of me…
“So yes, I’m joining the panel and I’m bringing something they so desperately need. Intelligence. Yeah, watch out Jonathan, Maya, Davina and Mo because I’m bringing my own detectives to rival yours.”
Alan adds: “Oh yeah, and we’re not here to play. We’re here to win!”

Alan Carr’s Masked Singer Wild Cards
ITV has confirmed that Alan’s own team of detectives will be called his ‘Wild Cards’. However, who they are exactly is still being kept under wraps.
As Alan said, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Maya Jama and Jonathan Ross will still be on the judging panel. ITV has also assured fans that Joel Dommett will also continue to host the prime time show.
But what they have promised is “rivalry” between the two sets of judges.
ITV said on Instagram: “Welcome our newest panellist @chattyman! But he’s not coming alone…let the rivalry begin.”
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV Director of Entertainment, Reality and Daytime, adds: “We are thrilled to welcome Alan Carr to The Masked Singer.
“His wit and energy are the perfect addition to our new ‘rival panel’ and we can’t wait for viewers to see the sparks fly.”
So what link did the clues have to Alan Carr? Alan previously travelled to Greece with his friend Amanda Holden for the BBC’s Alan & Amanda’s Greek Job.
Alan’s father, Graham Carr, was a former professional football player and manager.

The Masked Singer is due to return to ITV1 later this. The series usually begins in the New Year, following a Christmas special.
