And of course, they will each aim to do it on the smallest budget possible and in the quickest time.

So who is brave enough to take on the challenge and leave their mobile phones at the door?

Singer-songwriter Ella Eyre is giving Celebrity Race Across the World a go this year. She will be joined by her childhood friend Nana.

Ella is best known for her No1 hit Waiting All Night, along with songs If I Go, Comeback and Together.

They will be competing alongside veteran sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling and his son Matt. Football fans will know Jeff best for his 25-year stint presenting Soccer Saturday.

The next pair will both be familiar to most viewers. Princess Andre and her brother Junior are also taking part in the BBC One expedition. Princess and Junior are the children of Peter Andre and Katie Price.

Finally, singer and Eurovision runner-up Sam Ryder has signed up to the Race. He is bringing his best friend and tour manager Kaz along for the journey.

Each of the teams will have to survive on just £26 a day. And all they will have in their possession is a map and satellite phone in the case of an emergency.

The rest will fall down to their resilience and the kindness of the strangers they meet along the way.

What is the Celebrity Race Across the World 2026 route?

This year, the celebrities and their partners will be making a gruelling 7,500km journey on the other side of the world.

The race will begin in Kuching, in Sarawak in north west Borneo. Kuching acts as the gateway to the island’s vast wilderness.

From there, the pairs will put their endurance to the test as they cross prehistoric jungles and Borneo’s heartlands.

The teams must reach five checkpoints across three countries and two continents before heading for Australia’s sunbaked southern tip and the finish line in Melbourne.

When does Celebrity Race Across the World 2026 start?

Celebrity Race Across the World will once again air on BBC One. The series will be made up of six episodes, each lasting one hour. The show will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC is yet to confirm the exact start date for the 2026 series, simply stating “autumn” for now. But we suspect it isn’t far off!

Last year, the series began in the first week of November, so we’re expecting something similar. Looking forward to it!
