Celebrity Traitors fans turn on Maya Jama as she's accused of being a 'producer plant': 'It's the Maya Jama show'
Maya is the OG Traitor of 2026Celebrity Traitors fans have made a U-turn on Maya Jama, with some even accusing her of being a “producer plant”.
Viewers have complained the BBC series is becoming ‘The Maya Jama Show’ amid all the drama in the turret.
Maya is currently the only original Traitor following Richard E Grant’s banishment.

The Love Island star recruited James Acaster with Richard before he left, and then recruited Hannah Fry.
Last night, Hannah was rumbled at the Round Table. Maya and James then recruited another new Traitor to join the ranks; YouTube star King Kenny.
But with it becoming obvious Maya is very much leading the decisions in the turret, some fans have been having a moan.
Celebrity Traitors fans brand Maya Jama a ‘producer plant’
Maya once again dominated the turret in Thursday night’s episode of The Celebrity Traitors (October 15, 2026). Following Hannah’s banishment, she complained to the camera: “I’m two down, this is not how it’s supposed to be going.
“Hannah, my sweet angel, I’ve lost another Traitor tonight.”
Later in the turret, Maya also issued James with a warning.
Maya told him: “James, I’ve got to remind you, I need you. So please just stay a little bit treacherous, just a little bit.”
The pair were given the chance to murder or seduce another Traitor into their fold. They decided to seduce, with James suggesting King Kenny.
But Maya warned: “Kenny would be a good Traitor but I kind of like having him as a Faithful that trusts me.”
Thankfully, James managed to change her opinion. A short while later, Kenny became the third Traitor in the turret.
Watching the scenes unfold, however, one fan asked online: “Why is Maya talking as if she’s in charge? Being in the OG doesn’t make you in charge. I don’t know. I just find her controlling and it’s offputting.”

Another replied: “She knows reality production well with being the host of Love Island. Feel like she’s a bit of a producer plant to be honest.”
A third also wrote: “I’m enjoying this season but I feel it’s turning a bit into The Maya Show and I feel she thinks she’s running it? I could be wrong but I’m getting a bit fed up she doesn’t really bring anything to it?”
Someone else said: “She’s getting so full of herself I wouldn’t be surprised if either a) she gives herself away or b) the other Traitors gang up to get rid of her.”
And one fan even moaned: “Had a gutful of Maya already..’I’ve lost a Traitor….my turret…this won’t do…me me me…I I I…’. She brings all the excitement and spontaneity of a regional sales force seminar into The Traitors.”
‘She’s doing a great job, actually’
But where there is criticism, there is also a lot of support for Maya and her game play.
Hitting back at the negative comments, one Maya Jama fan said: “Maya is playing really well. The 2 of the 3 recruits have been solely hers, with a strategy of recruit the smartest and most influential Faithful and use them as a shield.”
“She’s doing a great job actually!” another chimed in.
And backing Maya for the final, one person even added: “She is the chairlady now on the board – and I hope she wins!”
