Coronation Street airs major Kit Green breakthrough in Sarah’s murder trial in ITVX episode
Kit is the person they needed to be on sideCoronation Street has aired further developments in Sarah Platt’s murder trial as Kit Green decided to take the stand in today’s ITVX episode.
This article contains spoilers from tonight’s episode. The episode has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch on YouTube and ITVX.
Kit has been completely refusing to take part in Sarah’s trial for a while now. But with him being probably the strongest character witness they could get, Sarah’s entire future could be dependent on what he would say. And tonight, everything changed.

Kit took to the stand in Coronation Street
It was still Gary’s turn to testify about what happened the night Theo died. But while he was on the stand, he accidentally just made things a whole lot worse for Sarah.
He admitted they lied to everyone in their lives about what happened – leading to the prosecution asking if Sarah could lie to everyone else then could she be lying to him.
Unable to take anymore, Bethany headed to see the one person who could vouch for her mum’s character – Kit. While he was adamant that he wouldn’t help, Bethany told him that he should be desperate to make things right for Sarah after the slept together.
Then, even Bernie told Kit that he was using his chemo as an excuse not to help the woman he was so in love with. Clearly affected, Kit decided to take to the stand once and for all.
But while he was there, he was asked whether or not Sarah was a good person. And he was clearly irritated by everything that went down between them. He told the jury about how she dumped him, and lied to him.
However, when he was reminded of the severity of the case, he explained that despite all of those things, Sarah is still a good person, and would never deliberately hurt someone.

What happens next?
Well, after the major breakthrough with Kit, everyone hoped Sarah had a better chance at things going her way. But at the end of the episode, she phoned Bethany in tears, telling her that her lawyers don’t think it’s looking good.
She asked Bethany to look after Harry if she is sent down – not knowing her daughter is actually pregnant.
Whether or not Sarah’s found guilty remains to be seen. But next week’s episodes are expected to pick right back up, and we will finally have our answer.
But the big question is will Sarah be free at last? Or is she about to spend her life behind bars?
