Who plays Clive in EastEnders? Casualty star Jason Durr joins soap as Linda's new love interest
Clive turned up in Walford tonight
EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, July 21), saw Jason Durr make his debut as Ian Beale’s contact Clive, quickly getting to know Linda Carter.
Linda had hoped that Clive might be able to help her save the community centre, but it seemed like there might’ve also been a spark between the pair.
Clive actor Jason Durr has appeared in a continuing drama before, and you might just know him already.
Linda’s meeting with Clive in EastEnders
Tonight in Walford, Linda Carter confided in Ian that her idea of arranging a pole dancing class for her recovery group had been a disaster.
She really didn’t want to lose the community centre as such important work took place there, helping so many people. But, it looked like the fight to keep it wasn’t working out.
Ian then offered to put her in touch with a contact of his – Clive. He had an in with the planning department of the council, although Ian did warn Linda that he was a really boring chap.
When Linda met up with Clive, she was taken aback by how different he looked to Ian. She was expecting someone similar, but then again… ‘there’s only one Ian Beale.’
Linda thanked Clive for meeting her as she was sure he was a busy guy with a family. Clive then opened up to her about having a daughter Millie. However, his wife had sadly died.
Clive encouraged Linda to invite the leadership team to a lively event at the centre, showing off Linda’s enthusiasm. Then, they might just change their minds.
As he got up to leave, he then gave Linda his personal phone number for anything she needed.
Who plays Clive in EastEnders?
Newcomer Clive is played by the 58 year old actor Jason Durr.
Jason was born in Singapore before moving to the UK.
Jason has appeared in a continuing drama before, being well-known for his role as David Hide in Casualty between 2016-2023.

Jason Durr arrived in Casualty in 2016 as a nurse who started working in the ED – David Hide.
During his time working in the emergency department of Holby City hospital, David was involved in a number of big storylines.
One huge storyline for the character was the exploration of his personal struggles with bipolar disorder.
Other storylines saw him struggle to deal with son Ollie’s school shooting and death from a cardiac arrest.
In 2023, David Hide decided to hand in his resignation and leave his job at the hospital. This was in response to the death of his friend and fellow colleague Robyn Miller, which David blamed on the hospital’s leadership team.

Jason has also appeared in Heartbeat as PC Mike Bradley, starring in 128 episodes of the show.
He’s also been in shows such as Holby City, Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators, and Midsomer Murders.

Jason has been married twice. His first marriage was to Jeanine Durr between 1995-2000.
Jason Durr is now married to actress Kate Charman. Kate is known for appearing in titles such as Galleria, Eyes Wide Shut, and Scandal.
The couple got married in 2004 and have three children together – Blossom Durr, and twins Felix and Velvet Durr.
What’s next for Clive in EastEnders?
EastEnders spoilers for the coming weeks have teased at a romantic connection for Linda and Clive.
Linda and Clive’s romance starts to blossom as it becomes clear there’s an instant attraction between them. Linda is over the moon when Clive offers to help save the community centre, prompting Elaine to play matchmaker in the hope of bringing them even closer.
Meanwhile, Kat and Sharon spot the pair enjoying lunch together in The Vic. As Linda gathers support for the community centre, her friends can’t resist teasing her about Clive, before she happily agrees to another date.
But while romance is in the air, Elaine accidentally drops a bombshell that leaves Sharon stunned, sending her straight to Phil for answers.
