EastEnders fans predict 'surprising' new romance for Phil Mitchell: ‘It’s not a coincidence!’

In recent months, Phil has been solo, with no romantic love interest in the show. Although dedicated fans still adore his previous relationship with Sharon.
However, EastEnders has welcomed some new characters recently, and now fans are convinced they have spotted “chemistry” between Phil Mitchell and Gemma Hawkins.
Phil and Gemma shared a few scenes recently
Gemma arrived on the show not too long ago. And she didn’t come alone – she is with her husband, Ned. So, while fans may be suspecting a romance blossoming, in true soap fashion, it would start with an affair.
Phil’s no stranger to an affair, as when he was married to Kat, he played away with Emma Harding. So, it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary.
However, many fans get the sense that Ned’s time on EastEnders is limited. And if he departs, Gemma would have room to date whoever she likes. And after a few scenes together, many think that will be Phil.
Earlier this week, Gemma was desperate to get her car fixed before Ned “went mad”. Phil eventually realised how upset she was and agreed to fix it for her. But when Gemma went to get her keys back, Phil explained that he wasn’t charging her for anything.
And fans think there was actually a lot of unspoken chemistry between the pair.
EastEnders fans convinced the pair share ‘chemistry’
Taking to social media, one fan predicted: “Just putting it out there that I would not be opposed to Phil and Gemma becoming an item in the near future.”
Another agreed: “Gemma and Phil is on its way. They’ve already established Ned as a baddie, and established a connection with Gemma and Phil on her first episode. Phil’s at his best when he’s rescuing a damsel in distress Between Ned and Phil my money’s on our Phil.”
“Phil and Gemma are probably gonna get together after Ned’s inevitable exit, I would much prefer this to him and Sharon reuniting as they should just be friends” a third commented.
A fourth wrote: “Gemma and Phil are gonna sleep together aren’t they..” to which another responded: “Oh it was a surprise but it’s definitely going to happen!”
