Emmerdale fans think that they’ve ‘figured out’ what newcomer Serena Sugden is hiding and they’ve linked it to John.
Serena’s been very interested in the topic of John Sugden ever since she turned up in the village. And, now Kev’s recognised her from somewhere too.
So, what’s going on with her? Is she dodgy? Well, fans think they know exactly what secret she’s keeping.
Serena’s secret in Emmerdale
Serena Sugden first introduced into the soap when she found Charity in a state of distress and worked out that she’d been a victim of sexual assault.
Recognising Sarah from a past family gathering, it then became clear that Serena was a Sugden. She then wasted no time in getting to know Robert and also picked up a couple of shifts behind the bar in the Woolpack.
Charity gave her a rundown on who was who in the village, with Serena being left in a difficult position. She was a confidant for new friend Charity but was also now keeping Charity’s baby secret from her cousin Sarah.
Now staying with Robert and Aaron on the farm, Serena’s asked perhaps one too many questions about serial killer cousin John. Aaron already associates her with his killer ex, so he’s not been happy to have her around.
And now, it appears as though Kev recognises Serena from somewhere. He wondered if he knew her from his time in prison, but Serena assured him that he did not. He needed to let the subject rest. Hmm, strange.
Emmerdale fans ‘work out’ what Serena is hiding
While some fans have been quick to suggest that Serena is another soap villain just like her relative John, other viewers have not written her off as a goodie just yet.
They think that she’s actually a journalist and is writing a book on John. This could be why she’s been pressing for so much information.
Taking to X, one fan commented: “Either Serena is writing a book on John or they share a mother.”
Another person asked: “Is Serena writing a book or maybe a journalist?”
A third added: “She’s definitely up to something. I said journalist the other day when she was asking Claudette loads of questions.”
