Emmerdale fans rush to defend Serena as another secret is exposed and she's forced to leave
Chas managed to expose Serena
Emmerdale tonight (Friday, July 17), saw Serena Sugden be forced to leave the village as Chas Dingle exposed her true colours.
With Aaron being suspicious of Serena’s true intentions, Chas had a chat with her and informed Aaron that he was right to be worried.
They then grabbed Serena’s phone and found a very telling photo on her device, forcing her to leave the village. But, fans are still team Serena.
Serena’s secret exposed in Emmerdale
Tonight in the Dales, Serena offered to help Robert out on the farm before being needed elsewhere. With Aaron warning Robert that Serena shouldn’t be trusted, Robert tried to reassure him that Serena wasn’t John 2.0.
Chas then stepped in to help get some information out of Serena for Aaron. Calling Serena into the back room of the Woolpack, Chas started asking her questions about why she was hanging around in the village.
Serena explained that she had pure intentions. She missed being around family and wanted to properly get to know Robert and Sarah.
Chas saw through this though and phoned up Aaron to tell him that his concerns about the Sugden newcomer were right.
Chas and Aaron later grabbed Serena’s phone and showed Robert what was on it – a picture of Serena and John. And, it was taken in December 2025. So, Serena had lied about not being close to John. She’d actually been with him when he was on the run for Nate’s murder.
Serena tried to explain that she’d hid the photo as she didn’t want to upset Robert. But, he wasn’t buying it.
Soon enough, Serena was thrown out and sent on her way out of the village.
Emmerdale fans rush to defend Serena as she leaves the village
Despite the villagers no longer trusting Serena, fans of the soap are still defending the character. They actually want the character to stick around and don’t think she’s done enough wrong to justify being forced out. After all, she didn’t know Robert when the photo was taken.
One fan on X commented: “And still Serena Sugden has done not a single thing wrong! My innocent Queen always!”
Another person gushed: “SERENA SUGDEN I STILL LOVE YOU.”
A third fan shared: “I’m off work today but was still up early to watch Emmerdale. I think I’m one of the few of actually likes Serena and wants her to stay.”
But, are fans right to defend Serena? Or, is it just one lie after another with her?
