Euphoria creator reveals Angus Cloud's Fezco's fate in season 3 after actor's real-life death
'I think he'd be very proud of it'
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has addressed the fate of Fezco, played by Angus Cloud, and how season 3 “honours” the late actor.
The hit HBO drama is days away from its long-awaited return. It’s been almost four years since the second season – so, get ready for a significant time jump for Rue (Zendaya), Nate (Jacob Elordi), Cassie (Sydney Sweeney), Jules (Hunter Schafer), Lexi (Maude Apatow), and Maddy (Alexa Demie).
Don’t expect to see everyone reprise their roles. For example, Barbie Ferreira bid a “teary-eyed goodbye” to her role as Kat back in 2022.
Angus Cloud, who died from a drug overdose in 2023, also won’t appear. However, Fezco will still be alive.

Sam Levinson reveals what happens to Angus Cloud’s Fezco in Euphoria season 3
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Levinson discussed Cloud’s death and how it impacted the story of season 3.
“I loved Angus very deeply and I fought very hard to keep him clean while he was here,” he said.
“I think when he passed away, it made me sort of step back and go what is the story I want to tell, what is it I want to say? What matters in life?
“And if I was going to do another season I wanted to make sure that it spoke to kind of a larger idea about meaning and purpose and who we are. It made me want to kind of tackle the idea of faith and belief in something greater than ourselves.”

Rather than killing him off or simply not alluding to his character, Levinson decided to keep Fezco alive – even if he’s always off-screen.
“I kept him alive and the character has got a great arc. I think he’d be very proud of it,” he added.

When is Euphoria season 3 out?
Euphoria season 3 premieres on April 13 in the UK. It will first air at 2am on Sky Atlantic, before airing again at 9pm the same day (much like House of the Dragon). You’ll also be able to stream it via HBO Max.
There are eight episodes in the third season, meaning it will culminate in its finale on June 1, 2026.
Teasing what to expect from the new (and possibly final) chapter, Levinson said: “I liked the idea of sort of the wild west of adulthood and this frontier feeling where anything is possible.
“That was sort of the backdrop that interested me, is who had these characters become and what are the consequences to those actions?”
