Virgin Island season 2: Release date, what nights it's on, how many episodes and first look at new cast
The new series launches at the end of the month
Virgin Island returns at the end of this month for series 2, with 12 new virgins, returning sex therapists and even more heartwarming moments promised ahead of the release date.
The first series of the Channel 4 show aired last year. And it broke records for the broadcaster. It became Channel 4’s top-streamed show for 16-34 year-olds in 2025, with a huge 1.4 million viewers per episode.
And, while the show was also praised for its “warm, sensitive” and “well-intentioned” approach to tackling social issues, many viewers took issue with the content, threatening to complain to regulator Ofcom.

What do we know about Virgin Island series 2?
Capitalising on the success of season 1, series 2 of Virgin Island will be “bigger and bolder” than the first.
Just like the first season, 12 brave virgins will be seen trying to overcome their intimacy issues with the help of a team of therapists. Once again, the therapists are led by Dr Danielle Harel and Celeste Hirschman.
A couple of other familiar faces also return. Surrogate partner therapist Kat Slade is back. She was seen having sex with cast member Dave on series 1. Aisha Paris-Smith and Andrew Lazarus are among the other therapists returning.

When is Virgin Island season 2 on? What is the release date?
Channel 4 has shared that it’ll debut on Monday April 27. It’ll be on at 9pm, and the second episode will air at the same time on Tuesday (April 28).
How many episodes of Virgin Island season 2 are there?
The first series had six episodes. This year, though, it’s been extended. As a result, it’ll air for eight hour-long episodes.

Virgin Island series 2 trailer – shock admissions and skinny dipping
The trailer for season 2 introduces viewers to the 12 young virgins taking part. It also sees them taking part in therapy sessions, and getting to know one another around the Mediterranean resort where it’s filmed.
One girl tells how she was branded “the ugliest girl in school”. Meanwhile, a couple of the boys look shocked during an intimacy workshop.
One of the contributors also describes himself as a “Grade A virgin”, while another describes feeling like “a horny teenager”. The group also hold a discussion about whether you should keep your eyes open whilst kissing.

Complaints over series 1
While the series was a ratings hit, some viewers did complain that the show was even commissioned in the first place.
“How can #virginisland be approved on live TV #ofcom,” said one. “I only saw a clip of this on #gogglebox. Found that creepy enough. Siri, phone Ofcom,” posted another.
“There’s a show called #virginisland and it’s actually disgusting,” said another. “I’m confused, are they therapists or glorified escorts? Are the virgins going to have sex with an instructor? If you have intimacy issues, are you supposed to have sex with your therapist?” another questioned.

Dave had ‘amazing time’ on the show
Series one participant Dave popped his cherry on the show and said of his experience: “I had an amazing time on the Island, and I’m truly thankful for the time I spent there.
“Anyone who has watched the show will have seen how much my confidence grew over the course of the series. And I can’t speak highly enough of the experts and production team for making us feel so safe and secure.”
