What time is Coronation Street on tonight?

Coronation Street is on air on Sunday August 30. It’s on at the usual time between 8.30pm-9pm, following Emmerdale.

Both soaps were off earlier this week because ITV instead aired the EFL Carabao Cup football match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United. This episode will make up for the missing ep on Tuesday.

Today’s episode of Corrie is also available on ITVX and YouTube. It’s usually available from 7am for those who wish for more flexibility.

What happens in Coronation Street tonight?

Todd tells Gemma about her dying aunt, so Gemma goes to see her. Things are awkward and Celeste’s health takes a turn for the worse. Gemma leaves, just as Todd is arriving. Todd and Celeste then row and Todd storms out.

Later Gemma sees paramedics attending Celeste’s room and is upset to discover she has died. But she leaves behind a devastating family secret that could have far reaching consequences for the entire family.

Elsewhere, it’s time for Nina to say goodbye. She packs up the Woody ready for Roy to drive her to Whitby. After a drink in the Rovers with her best mates, Nina and Abi share an emotional farewell in Seb’s memorial garden.

Roy then drives her off for her new life away from the cobbles.

Soap power hour in 2026

In October 2024, Corrie started streaming daily episodes of the soap from 7am.

This change was actually welcomed by many fans. Stats for the first quarter of 2025 confirm that ITVX achieved a ‘record-breaking’ billion streams in a quarter for the ‘first time ever.’ Coronation Street and Emmerdale have raked up 124 million streams on ITVX so far this year. Soap viewing is up 35 percent in comparison to the first quarter of 2024.

And then from January 2026, more changes came in. After the huge Corriedale episode, instead of airing just three days a week, Corrie now airs every weekday but for only half an hour.

Emmerdale begins the ‘soap power hour’ at 8pm and is followed by Corrie at 8.30pm. Both episodes are usually on Monday-Friday and new episodes also drop on ITVX every morning at 7am as usual.
