'I threw up': Euphoria season 3 goes 'too far' with 'disgusting' poo scene featuring Chloe Cherry

Euphoria season 3 is off to a “vile” start, according to viewers – and this “disgusting” scene involving Chloe Cherry, a dog, and poo, is to blame.
To be fair, the first two seasons already have their fair share of uncomfortable (and even triggering) scenes. Who can forget Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie vomiting in the hot tub, or any of its graphic and aggressive sex scenes?
We’re only one episode into the new series. However, whether it’s Cassie’s OnlyFans photoshoots (including a baby outfit from a later episode) or Zendaya’s Rue being forced to swallow drug balloons, showrunner Sam Levinson is already facing criticism for Euphoria season 3.
Here’s the thing: all of this is subjective. Some people won’t be bothered by Euphoria’s more extreme scenes. However, one scene in the season 3 premiere is as close to objectively gross as one could ever imagine.
Why Euphoria fans are so ‘disgusted’ by Chloe Cherry’s poo scene in season 3
The first episode of season 3 largely follows Rue’s misadventures as a drug dealer as she tries to pay back Laurie.
In one sequence, she needs to swallow small balloons filled with cocaine and fentanyl to smuggle them across the border. Rue enlists the help of Faye (Chloe Cherry), and by dipping them in water and KY Jelly, they slip them down their throats.
That’s bad enough, but it gets worse. Rue makes it home in time to poop out the balloons, but Faye has… an accident. She walks into the house with poo running down her leg… and then a dog runs up and licks it!
Cherry hasn’t commented on that part of the sequence, but she told Metro how Levinson wanted the swallowing scene to be as “disgusting” as possible.

“He was like, ‘I really, really, really, really, really need you to turn the disgust up in this scene,’ and I was like, all right, I’m gonna give it a go,” she recalled.
“I just managed to pull it off… and when we stopped shooting, everybody clapped. I’m not even kidding, the whole crew clapped for me. They were so amazed at how disgusting I made that scene.”
‘So unnecessary’
Broadly speaking, the premiere hasn’t been received especially well – but Euphoria fans really aren’t happy about the dog licking Faye’s poo.
“Faye [pooing] herself and the dog licking it was so unnecessarily gross. Like vomit doesn’t even usually bother me but that was vile,” one user commented.
“There is absolutely no need whatsoever to have her [poo] herself and have a dog lick it. Degrading and disgusting,” another wrote.
“I’m sorry wtf was that scene with Faye and the dog?” a third asked.
“When the dog licked the poo off of Faye I almost gagged,” a fourth added.
“Sam Levinson needs to go to jail for the dog licking poop off Faye’s butt,” a fifth posted on X. “I threw up,” another wrote.
