Gemma barely appeared in the 90 minute episode...I’m A Celebrity South Africa 2026 launched last night (April 6), and already, viewers are threatening to complain to Ofcom about Gemma Collins.
The ITV reality show welcomed the likes of David Haye, Sinitta and Adam Thomas for the spin-off series as it returned with Ant and Dec as hosts.
During the first episode, viewers watched a number of the cast take part in challenges, where they battled for a place in the main camp. However, they noticed that the iconic GC was largely absent for most of it.

Gemma Collins on I’m A Celebrity South Africa
A handful of celebs from this year’s line-up did not appear in the first episode. As previously announced, Gemma will be joined by three more latecomers: Harry Redknapp, Craig Charles and Jimmy Bullard.
The late arrivals take the total amount of stars taking part in I’m A Celebrity All Stars to 12.
However, during the final minute of the launch episode, Gemma’s entrance was teased alongside Corrie actor Craig Charles.
Teasing tonight’s episode (April 7), the pair take part in an eating challenge, Guts Instinct, where Gemma can be seen visibly struggling and hurling into a bucket.
While tearing up, she said: “Sorry, I can’t. I can’t. I’m gonna die!”
