Grace series 6 is due to land on our screens any day now, with John Simm and Richie Campbell returning as “tenacious detectives” DS Roy Grace and DS Glenn Branson.
The detective duo are back to tackle more “chilling crimes” in the “taut” ITV thriller that has been running since 2021. And this time, tensions run high during an anti-corruption probe, while Grace grapples with secrets of his own. Yes, more secrets!
Here’s everything we know about Grace series 6, including the plot, cast, start date, and number of episodes.

Is there a series 6 of Grace on ITV?
ITV has confirmed there will be a series 6 of Grace. The detective series, based on the novels of Peter James, will return in 2026 with another set of episodes. And, by the looks of the promo shots released thus far, it looks like Roy Grace and Glenn Branson have had a glow-up!
Author Peter James, who has sold over 21 million copies of his Grace novels, said: “I have been blessed with the most brilliant cast an author could wish for, and the most communicative and creative production team. I’m inundated, daily, with emails from the public both in the UK and around the world telling me how much the series is loved. And that is a true testament to the sheer quality of the episodes.
“I hope there will be many more series to come. They are the best adaptations of my work that I’ve ever experienced. Working with ITV and all involved is a total and ongoing joy.”
That sounds like there’s hope for plenty more series in the future.
What’s the plot?
Grace series 6 will once again follow DS Roy Grace and DS Glenn Branson as they tackle challenging cases in Brighton. This time, the cases are based on Left You Dead, Capture You Dead, Dead Man’s Game, and One Of Us is Dead. The series will also deal with the fallout of the series 5 finale, where Grace learnt that his wife’s death was not suicide.
