I Will Find You is coming to Netflix this summer, and it’s a new star-studded thriller from the streamer’s go-to mystery writer, Harlan Coben.

Coben’s partnership with the streaming platform dates back to 2018’s Safe. Since then, he’s produced some of the best Netflix series you can watch, whether it’s The Stranger or Fool Me Once.

Next to Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone-iverse, he’s one of the most prolific TV writers we have. In April, he even announced The Woods, a remake of his Polish thriller starring Michelle Keegan and Tom Bateman.

First, though, Netflix subscribers can look forward to I Will Find You – which marks a major first in Coben’s career.

What is I Will Find You about?

I Will Find You will follow Sam Worthington’s David Burroughs, a father imprisoned for life for the murder of his own son. It’s a crime “he didn’t commit, yet a tragedy he punishes himself for every day,” Netflix’s synopsis teases.

“An innocent father serving life for the murder of his own son receives evidence that his child may still be alive — and he must break out of prison to uncover the truth,” it adds, with Tudum calling it another “jaw-dropping” mystery.

Just like with his past series, I Will Find You is based on Coben’s novel of the same name. If you think that synopsis is too vague, we can find out a little more about what to expect from the book’s blurb.

“David and Cheryl Burroughs are living the dream – married, a beautiful house in the suburbs, a three year old son named Matthew – when tragedy strikes one night in the worst possible way,” its Amazon description reads.

“David awakes to find himself covered in blood, but not his own – his son’s. And while he knows he did not murder his son, the overwhelming evidence against him puts him behind bars indefinitely.

“Five years into his imprisonment, Cheryl’s sister arrives – and drops a bombshell. She’s come with a photograph that a friend took on vacation at a theme park. The boy in the background seems familiar… it’s Matthew, and he’s still alive.”

Does it have a release date?

I Will Find You will be released exclusively on Netflix on Thursday, June 18, 2026.

If you can’t wait that long, you can watch the vast majority of Coben’s other mystery thrillers on Netflix now.

After Coben shared the trailer on Instagram, the excitement was immediate. “My husband and I have watched EVERY single one of your shows! CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS ONE,” one fan wrote.

“So exciting. Absolutely love your work,” another commented. “Can’t wait! I read the book and was hooked from the jump… so exciting,” a third wrote.

Who’s in the I Will Find You cast?

I Will Find You boasts a strong ensemble, with Sam Worthington (known for his roles in Avatar and Man on a Ledge) playing David Burroughs.

His co-star is an Emmy-winner: Britt Lower, who’s risen to fame thanks to her incredible performance as Helly in Severance. She plays Rachel, his ex-sister-in-law who delivers the news about David’s son possibly being alive.

However, she also sees it as an incredible story – and possibly even her route back into journalism.

The cast also includes:

  • Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us, Gilmore Girls) as Hayden, Rachel’s ex-boyfriend,
  • Logan Browning (Dear White People, The Perfection) as Sarah Greer, a member of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force
  • Erin Richards (The Crown, Gotham) as Cheryl Dreason, David’s ex-wife
  • Jonathan Tucker (Westworld, The Virgin Suicides) as Sergeant Adam Mackenzie, David’s best friend
  • Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies, Hawaii Five-0) as Max Williams, the head of the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force
  • Madeleine Stowe (Soundtrack, 12 Monkeys) as Gertrude Payne, a wealthy heiress
  • Clancy Brown (The Penguin, Dumb Money) as Nicky Fisher, a mobster

Robert Hull, the co-creator and showrunner, told Netflix: “The cast we’ve assembled is nothing short of phenomenal.

“Any one of these incredible artists would be a dream on their own. The fact we’ve somehow drawn them all in is a testament to the power of Harlan’s storytelling and the incredible support of everyone at Netflix. I cannot wait to watch them bring these roles to life.”

I Will Find You has one big difference from other Harlan Coben shows

While many of his shows have been set in the UK, Harlan Coben isn’t averse to taking his stories abroad. Prime Video’s Shelter was set in New Jersey, while he’s also written series that take place in France, Argentina, and Poland.

However, I Will Find You marks the first time one of his Netflix productions is actually set in North America.

“Netflix has been an amazing creative partner all over the globe — and now we get to come home and do it here in the United States. We have a dream team of talent,” Coben said.

Remember, Coben himself is an American. He was born in Newark and raised in Livingston, New Jersey, before travelling the world as he penned his first novels.

Where was I Will Find You filmed?

Production on I Will Find You lasted from April to August 2025, with the series predominantly filmed in Canada. More specifically, filming took place in Kingston and Toronto.

This is common for Netflix series; for example, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen was mostly filmed in Canada.

However, other scenes were shot in the US, with the crew shooting in Washington Square Park, Central Park, and Times Square.

How many episodes are there?

There will be a total of eight episodes in I Will Find You.

It’s been billed as a limited series, so don’t expect a second season. But, as you’d expect with a Netflix release, you’ll be able to binge the whole show as soon as it drops.
