I’m A Celebrity South Africa fans hit out at bosses, as a “King of the Jungle” was named online, just hours before the new series is set to start.

The hit spin-off, which was recorded last year, kicks off tonight (Monday, April 6) on ITV1 and ITVX.

I’m A Celebrity South Africa fans slam ‘King of the Jungle’ blunder

In a post on the official I’m A Celebrity Facebook page, bosses made a blunder while sharing a picture of Jimmy Bullard.

Alongside a photo of Jimmy in South Africa, the caption read: “Does former King of the Jungle, Jimmy Bullard, have what it takes to win the Legend crown too?”

However, fans were quick to point out the error in the post – that Jimmy never won the show and was, in fact, voted out first.

“He was out first that year, because I remember being outraged by it,” one fan said.

‘He was out first’

Other fans chimed in. “Carl Fogarty won the year he was on?” another wrote.

“He didn’t win, he was out first because of his bantz with Jake Quickenden. Foggy won that year,” a third commented.

“Someone doesn’t know the history of I’m A Celebrity, he didn’t win, he was on the show [the] year Carl Fogarty won it,” another pointed out.

When Jimmy headed into the jungle back in 2014, he was an early favourite to win the show. However, a clash with Jake Quickenden saw public opinion shift, and he became the first celebrity to be voted out.

However, he wasn’t the first celeb to leave the show. Both Gemma Collins and Craig Charles walked after a few days.

Jimmy Bullard ‘gutted’ on being first out

Speaking to The Sun in 2022, Jimmy admitted he was “gutted” to be the first celebrity voted out on his series.

The star said, “I was first out. I went from favourite, what I know now, to first out, so no one was more gutted than me when I found out that. I thought, ‘Oh my god, I ballsed that up’.

“When you first come out, you’re a little bit gutted, but, trust me, being in that hotel, and you’ve got some food with ya, it’s just like it ain’t a bad gig,” he then said.

Jimmy also admitted that doing I’m A Celebrity was the “hardest” thing he’s ever done.

“First of all, it’s still one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, ludicrous, no food. There were a few times when I was like, ‘This is a bit much, I’ve gotta go here. I’ve gotta walk’,” he said.
