I'm A Celebrity South Africa viewers perform huge Gemma Collins U-turn after her behaviour in camp

'Wouldn't be mad if she won!'

I’m A Celebrity South Africa continued on Tuesday (April 14), with viewers picking a new Queen of the Jungle – none other than Gemma Collins!

The GC was on the winning Rhino tribe at the start of the show, as Craig Charles and Adam Thomas won dinner for camp. And, by the end of the show, viewers had performed a complete 180, deciding that they want her to be named the 2026 series Legend at the live final at the end of next week.

Gemma Collins wins over I’m A Celebrity viewers

The all-stars series is now in its second week, with Gemma Collins’ reinvention going swimmingly. Already Gemma has completed more time in camp than her previous appearance. In 2014, she lasted just 72 days before deciding to leave the jungle.

This time around, she’s been in camp more than a week. And, as well as that, she’s impressed viewers after vowing to show the real Gemma, and not her GC persona.

In Tuesday’s show, Gemma paid Sinitta a compliment over her cooking, after she admitted she was nervous about preparing the Rhinos’ dinner. Gemma’s comment came days after Sinitta told how she thought Gemma winning a part in West End musical Chicago was “a joke”.

Then, she consoled boxer David Haye after he and Ashley Roberts lost their trial and ended up with rice and beans for dinner. She told him that he was still a champion in her eyes. The comment came days after he suggested she was denied water during her eating trial.

And Gemma’s kind words didn’t go unnoticed by viewers watching at home. In fact, they’ve actually made some do a complete U-turn when it comes to their feelings about Gemma. So much so that many are now predicting that she’ll win the show.

‘I’ve never been a fan but how sweet was Gemma with David tonight!’

“I think Gemma is having a redemption arc which has come as quite a surprise to me,” said one new fan. Another agreed and said: “Gemma I’ve never been a fan of but how sweet was she with David tonight!”

A third commented: “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am actually warming to Gemma Collins a lot. She’s coming across really well, humble and doesn’t take herself too seriously.” “Kudos to Gemma. Sinitta made that rather unfair comment towards her on Chicago but Gemma still made sure to congratulate her for cooking that difficult food. I’m not usually a fan of Gemma Collins but she is coming across well here,” another agreed.

‘I misjudged her’

Others are backing her to win. “I misjudged Gemma and I think she’s brilliant TV. Also wouldn’t be mad if she won!” said one. Another commented and said: “I would have Gemma winning this series to be honest. Never thought I would say that! I’m enjoying her this series.”

A third added: “I’m voting GC for I’m A Celebrity Legend. She’s surely got this in the bag!”
