It comes amid reports that Zoe Slater will be 'killed off'
EastEnders and Kat Slater actress Jessie Wallace is reportedly due to ‘take an upcoming break’ from the BBC soap.
This news comes amid reports that Kat Slater’s daughter Zoe Slater is due to be ‘killed off.’
Jessie Wallace’s break from filming will see her take on a new role on stage instead of screen.

Jessie Wallace to ‘take break’ from EastEnders as Kat Slater
The Sun has reported that Jessie Wallace will ‘take a break’ from EastEnders this festive period as she takes up a new panto role.
The temporary break will see her perform as villain Captain Hook in New Wimbledon Theatre’s stage production of Peter Pan this Christmas.
The panto stint is set to take place between December 2026 – January 2027.
A source told the publication: “Jessie will be taking a short break from the soap to appear in panto.
“It’s a huge bonus for Jessie. She’s one of the show’s biggest names and can command huge fees for panto appearances.”

Kat set for heartbreak as Zoe Slater is set to be ‘killed off’
The news of Jessie’s break away from the soap comes after recent reports of Kat’s daughter Zoe’s own exit.
It was reported earlier this month that Michelle Ryan has filmed her final scenes on the soap, with her character Zoe Slater being ‘killed off.’
Actress Michelle reportedly chose to quit the soap, with soap bosses then deciding upon a permanent exit for the character.
The exit way Zoe dies is yet to be revealed, but Zoe’s final scenes are due to air within the next few months.
With Kat’s daughter dying, it’s possible that this storyline ties in with her brief exit from the Square.
A source told The Sun: “Michelle’s long-awaited return has been somewhat flat and lacklustre.
“There’s been a backlash about her comeback, leaving some fans disappointed with her on-screen presence.
“There has been some disappointment backstage that the return was short-lived as everyone loved the Zoe Slater’s historic moments.”
