John plans to kill Aaron - all the signs he won't go through with it
John has only killed onceEmmerdale ended on a very ominous cliffhanger, with John Sugden threatening to kill Aaron Dingle, his husband.
It’s been a very dramatic few weeks. And tonight’s instalment proved that things look set to continue that way. Following that very dramatic cliff jump, neither Aaron or John died at the scene. Instead, Aaron was put into a coma, and John’s injuries weren’t too severe (shame!).
In tonight’s episode, John woke up, and instantly blamed Robert for everything. And when he finally got alone with Aaron, he made it clear he intends for his secrets to remain under wraps.

John is planning to kill Aaron
In tonight’s visit to Emmerdale, John put all the blame on Robert. And remember that CCTV footage he had of Robert attacking him? Yep, he even used that against him.
At the hospital, everyone kept asking John what happened. And it was very easy for them all to believe his story about Rob.
He made it sound like Robert was attacking him and Aaron tried to jump in to save him. But unfortunately for both, Robert pushed and they went over.
When he was finally able, John headed to see Aaron, who’s still in a coma. He spoke to his husband alone, telling him all he wanted to do was move on from it all. But as Aaron wouldn’t drop it, he thinks it’s “best” if Aaron doesn’t wake up.
But will John kill him? Here are all the reasons we don’t think he will be able to go through with it.

1. He wants to be a hero
John’s whole storyline has been surrounding his need to be a hero. He wants to save people so that he is needed in their lives. If he were to kill them, then he’s not done his job.
Even from the newspaper clipping in his childhood bedroom showing him rescuing a dog at a young age. It shows that need to help has always been there.
Very early on fans predicted John may have a hero complex, which is a real thing. And as time went on, that was proven.

2. John couldn’t kill Mack
John’s had poor Mack in that bunker for quite some time now. And that means he has had plenty of opportunities to strike the final blow.
But every time he even came close, he backed out, adamant that he wasn’t a killer. Instead, he kept telling Mack that he wanted to keep him alive and even wanted to trust he wouldn’t go to the police.
In the end, he gave Mackenzie a syringe of fatal drugs. But he never injected him with it himself. That was because he didn’t want to be the one to take the final blow.

3. Nate’s the only one to die
So far in the whole John Sugden saga, Nate Robinson is the only one to actually die. And John seemed actually cut up about doing it.
John was trying to save Nate’s life by injecting him with a drug. But tragically, Nate seemed to have some sort of reaction which ultimately killed him.
But when John was explaining the whole thing to Mackenzie, he seemed genuinely upset. So if John were to kill Aaron in Emmerdale, someone he supposedly loves, surely this would cut him up even more.

4. He did seem to love Aaron
Throughout the whole Emmerdale storyline, John has been adamant he loves Aaron. The pair got married and were planning on moving away – which worked perfectly for John who wanted to keep his secrets.
But of course, when Robert Sugden returned, we all knew it was a matter of time before Robron reunited. And so did John.
Despite everything, John seemed desperate for his relationship with Aaron to work. But now that that’s most definitely finished, we still can’t see him being able to kill him. He couldn’t even kill his former love Aidan Moore.

5. No confirmation on Danny Miller leaving
At the moment, there has been nothing to suggest that Danny Miller is leaving his role.
Aaron has been a huge character for many, many years and so to kill him off would be an extreme move that we don’t think (or hope) that Emmerdale wouldn’t take.
That being said, sometimes Emmerdale do love to throw some curveballs. So if John actually kills Aaron remains to be seen..
