Traitors season 4 drugging horror: Lisa Rinna says she was drugged with fentanyl at premiere party

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna has been through an awful situation

Traitors season 4 star Lisa Rinna has made claims that have sparked serious concern after the TV star said she was drugged with fentanyl during the season 4 premiere party in January.

Rinna said she later tested positive for fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines and other substances after the event at The Abbey in West Hollywood.

Traitors star Lisa Rinna’s allegation after premiere party

Rinna made the allegation during an appearance on Good Day New York in February. She told hosts Jerry O’Connell and Rosanna Scotto that the alleged incident happened at the launch event in January.

She said: “I’m not kidding. I had fentanyl, high levels of amphetamines and other things. But I can’t talk a lot about it because we’re still dealing with it. It was leaked, and my team is dealing with it now.”

Rinna also said her husband, Harry Hamlin, helped her leave the party soon after she became unwell.

The Abbey responds to Lisa Rinna Traitors claim

Meanwhile, The Abbey said it carried out an internal review after Rinna’s team got in touch. In a statement to ABC News, the venue said staff acted quickly when she became ill.

The statement said: “Lisa’s team shared concerns with us following her visit, and we immediately conducted a thorough internal review. When she became unwell, our security team assisted her and escorted her safely out of the venue.”

The venue added that it reviewed available surveillance footage from the time in question and interviewed staff who were on duty. However, it said it found no evidence of drink tampering or suspicious behaviour directed at Rinna.

The Abbey also said it could not comment on medical findings and did not want to speculate about toxicology results.

In addition, the venue stressed that it takes reports of guests feeling unwell or unsafe very seriously. It said drink tampering is a crime and urged anyone who believes their drink has been compromised to report it immediately, either to management or directly to law enforcement.

According to the statement, The Abbey has extensive surveillance coverage, trained security staff and ongoing drink-safety measures in place. As a result, it said guest safety remains its top priority.

Fentanyl concerns in wider context

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that has played a major role in the overdose crisis in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 69% of all overdose deaths in 2023 involved synthetic opioids, mainly illegally made fentanyl and fentanyl analogs.

The CDC also says powdered fentanyl is often mixed with drugs such as heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. Therefore, people may not realise the substances they take contain fentanyl.

Rinna’s current TV role

Rinna is currently appearing in The Traitors season 4. She is also well known for roles in Days of Our Lives and Melrose Place. In addition, viewers know her from reality shows including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Dancing With the Stars.
