Behind-the-scenes clip reveals Louis Theroux’s answer to HSTikkyTokky question ‘that really got to him’

Louis Theroux seemed to hesitate, but his answer was removed from the doc

Louis Theroux didn’t appear to answer one of HSTikkyTokky’s questions in Inside the Manosphere – but, thanks to a behind-the-scenes clip, we know what he actually said.

Theroux doesn’t hold back throughout the new Netflix doc. He directly rejected Sneako and Ed Matthews’ conspiracy theories, and he accused Myron Gaines of spreading misinformation.

In one of the final interviews of the film, Theroux meets with HSTikkyTokky and his mum, Elaine. It’s a frosty sequence, with the influencer livestreaming, snapping back at Theroux, and asking him questions from the comments on his phone.

There is one question that Theroux doesn’t respond to, leaving some viewers at home “disappointed”. However, he did answer it.

What did HSTikkyTokky ask Louis Theroux?

In the documentary, after referencing his past interviews with Jimmy Savile, HSTikkyTokky asks Theroux: “Are Israel committing genocide?”

Theroux hesitates, prompting HSTikkyTokky to say: “You’re a puppet. You can’t say what you want to say… you’re a puppet the same way you are for Savile.”

The irony, of course, is that HSTikkyTokky was arguably being puppeted by his viewers’ questions.

Nevertheless, Theroux’s reluctance and his decision to seemingly avoid the question has been criticised across social media.

“I found it frustrating that Louise Theroux couldn’t say whether he thought Israel was committing the genocide or not,” one user wrote on X.

“Highly disappointing from Louis Theroux,” another wrote, and a third added: “This was a terrible doc… it’s even worse when Theroux refused to answer a Q from the interviewee about whether the situation in Gaza constitutes genocide.”

Speaking after the doc on a Kick stream, HSTikkyTokky claimed the question “really got to” Theroux.

“He had to think about it and what he could and couldn’t say, because he’s controlled,” he added.

Louis Theroux’s response revealed

Thanks to HSTikkyTokky’s stream, we actually have Theroux’s uncut response to the question.

Theroux told HSTikkyTokky how the United Nations is “building a case” against Israel and there’s been a “prima facie finding that there’s strong grounds for there being a genocide”.

“There’s no question, in my opinion, that there’s ethnic cleansing… most experts in genocide say that there’s a genocide,” he adds.

Also, it’s worth remembering that Theroux has thoroughly researched the subject. In 2011, he made a documentary called The Ultra Zionists, where he met ultranationalist Israelis within the occupied West Bank.

He made a follow-up film, The Settlers (one of Louis Theroux’s best documentaries), in which he met with Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank. He also interviewed Daniella Weiss, the far-right Zionist settler.

“It wasn’t a real question. He just wanted content. Watch his documentary and you will know what he believes,” one user wrote, defending Theroux.

“Why would he answer a deflective question from his subject when it has no relevance? That’s just derailing the conversation. Do you think HSTikkyTokky, of all people, cares about colonial struggle?” another commented.
