MAFS Australia fans have given David Momoh a massive round of applause after his “mic drop” at his and Alissa Fay’s Final Vows.

David left Alissa – and fans at home – stunned when he ditched her at the altar tonight.

The couple had arrived in their wedding finery to cement their marriage but David pulled out a very unexpected move.

David’s vows ended with him telling Alissa: “I’m done listening”. He also branded her “controlling”.

David then issued a sucker punch, telling Alissa: “I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”

He then walked out, leaving Alissa to read her vows… to no one. Awkward!

Tonight’s scenes played out in Australia several weeks ago – and it was instantly clear whose side fans were on. It’s likely British viewers will agree.

Writing on Reddit, one said: “Go David! Mic drop.”

Another added: “It was good that David went first. She was probably expecting that David would beg again. Finally! David found his balls.”

A third said: “Alissa, BABE… you looked pretty [bleeping] embarrassing reading your vows to no one. Liiiike, that’s just so [bleeping] embarrassing, BABE!”

And someone else applauded: “I think that David’s ‘cup was full’. He had taken as much as he could take of her controlling ways and he needed to make a stand.

“He was mentally beaten down and so elected to make a classy exit at the vows ceremony, rather than endure any more crap from Alissa.”

So what exactly did David say to Alissa at their Final Vows? Here’s a recap if you missed it.

MAFS Australia’s Alissa stunned as David walks out

David and Alissa had a rocky ride in the last few weeks. Last week, things reached fever pitch as the couples gathered for their final dinner party of the series.

David clearly did a lot of soul searching in the days that followed and, although he turned up to Final Vows, he refused to cement his marriage with Alissa.

David told Alissa: “Watching you back on the Final Test with our alternative matches, you flirted, made inappropriate jokes, and spoke poorly about me behind my back. I felt betrayed and disrespected by what I saw.

“On our wedding day you said you wanted to be challenged by this relationship, so that is what I did. I challenged you, and you shut me down.

“I felt you wouldn’t take any accountability of how I felt.”

‘Controlled and unheard’

David told Alissa he felt “controlled and unheard”. He said “no version” of himself could have “won” in their relationship.

“Throughout all of this I’ve been patient and done a lot of the listening,” David added. “But I’m done listening. So today, I’m not walking away because I’ve stopped loving you, I’m walking away because loving you shouldn’t mean losing myself.”

David then turned away and walked out of the wedding venue.

Alissa looked stunned, before she said to him: “You’re not going to listen to my vows?” But as David kept walking, she added: “I’ll take that as a no.”

Alissa began reading her own vows out loud to the empty space before her. The sound then faded out – and that was that!
