Award-winning women Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer are coming together to lead the story about a young woman who finds a new lease of life thanks to the service.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles on Apple TV follows the story of Margo Millet – the 20-year-old daughter whose life is turned upside down.

The daughter of a former Hooters waitress and an ex-wrestler, Margo’s home life has never exactly been normal. When she gets into community college, she sees it as a path to success.

But an ill-advised affair with her young English Literature professor, Mark, puts a stop to that. When she gets pregnant, Mark ghosts her, and now Margo faces a future filled with bills, legal battles and child-rearing single-handedly.

When she gives birth to her son, Bodhi, Margo drops out of college and struggles to keep a job as she can’t find babysitters.

To top it off, her deadbeat dad, Jinx, arrives on her doorstep and looking for a place to stay after a stint in rehab.

Desperate for cash, Margo decides to channel the theatrical skills and wisdom of her eccentric parents to a new business venture: launching an OnlyFans account.

But as she finds her page taking off, she begins to question the true cost of making so much money.

No, Margo’s Got Money Troubles is not based on a true life story.

However, it is based on the 2024 novel by Rufi Thorpe.

The Apple TV show was already green-lit by A24 before the book was even released.

Who stars in the Apple TV + drama Margo’s Got Money Troubles?

Elle Fanning leads the cast as the titular Margo Millet. Fanning’s previous notable credits include: The Great, A Complete Unknown, Super 8 and The Girl from Plainville.

Earlier this year, Fanning earned her first Oscar nomination for her role in movie, Sentimental Value. She has 19 awards wins to date in her career.

Michelle Pfeiffer plays Margo’s complicated and eccentric mother, former Hooters waitress Shyanne. Pfeiffer is a three-time Oscar nominee, and has appeared in classic movies including What Lies Beneath, Hairspray, Scarface and Batman Returns.

Nicole Kidman completes our trio of leading ladies, playing the therapeutic mediator between Margo and baby daddy Mark.

Kidman is a five-time Oscar nominee, winning one for Best Lead Actress in The Hours. Other notable credits include Moulin Rouge, Australia, Eyes Wide Shut and Big Little Lies.

As well as starring in the series, Fanning, Pfeiffer and Kidman are all also executive producers on the series. Fanning’s actress sister, Dakota Fanning, is also an executive producer as well.

Full series release schedule and launch date

Margo’s Got Money Troubles launches Wednesday, April 15, exclusively on Apple TV.

The series will run for eight episodes, with the first three episodes dropping at once on premiere date.

After that, new episodes will drop every Wednesday.

So this makes the full release schedule:

  • April 15: Episodes 1, 2 and 3
  • April 22: Episode 4
  • April 29: Episode 5
  • May 6: Episode 6
  • May 13: Episode 7
  • May 20: Episode 8 (season finale)
